Ummm.....NO.  I saw a Discovery show about a 7x7 that did just that.  Not only did it kill all 4 engines, but it creates a static field around the plane (St. Elmo's Fire) that jammed radio communications.  On top of that the plane was basically sandblasted by flying though the abrasive ash.

At the rate things are going, I don't see it in my lifetime.....or ever.  Once you leave the solar system you need a destination.  That means another star, which means light speed (heck....may as well fantasize about FTL).  Going to light speed basically means standing in one of the tunnels of the LHC, as you ram into the stationary molecules of hydrogen gas.  So you'll need some sort of force field since I don't know if a simple EM field is powerful enough to deflect that.

I don't have a problem with this.  It no different than what every other star supporting a cause, is doing.  That's actually the main reason for having celebrities support your cause.  They bring publicity and attention to problems that would usually get none.

I know what you mean.  I played so much Diablo II that I finally got sick of it and sold it.  Now years later, I'm looking at the D2 collection and wondering if I should buy it.  Fortunately I'm currently hooked on Mass Effect 2 and realize that I don't have any time for an old game.

There's no way to tell if the RROD is rare since MS will not release the actual numbers.  It's probably not the rampant epidemic that it initially was, but I know of a coworker who bought a recent 360 (< 1 year) which had just died.

No.  Some games may benefit from it, but the last thing I want is my big, fat hand obscuring the screen as I'm trying to target enemies.  It's probably also not a great idea for drawing either.  I've seen a really nice picture by Jim Lee using an iPad, but that had a more expressionist style.  If you need pixel perfect accuracy, the last thing you should be using is a finger.

I'm not a Mac fan so I'll keep my opinions to myself.  I just wanted to say that there's rumors of a Macbook refresh in the works.  You might want to hold off until Apple's next big event to see if they announce anything.  There's also new iPhone rumors.

I'd rather buy a cheap laptop.  Those are down to $500 and you get a huge screen, big harddrive, PORTS and full Internet functionality.

I really like her.  I've got both of her CDs.
