  • PS: The game also has one of the most engaging characters I've seen in years, Dexter. He is a former NYC firefighter, and has the best voice work and most appealing personality of any character in a very long time. He actually feels like a friend in the game, and his lines are all fresh and funny. I'm surprised I forgot to mention it in the main part of the ...

  • A solid game that should NOT be missed: Allow me to start by saying that Darkest of Days is a solid tradiitonal shooter with terriffic voice work, engaging and fun action, some very good graphics and a fresh and cool story line. It is not a AAA title, but neither is it the piece of crap that Jeff would have you believe. In fact, Darkest of Days may be the freshest FPS I've played all year (and I ...

  • I can't watch the quick look here at work, but I want to tell anyone considering buying this game that it is actually  pretty good. Jeff definitely hammered the game more than it deserves. Some of the graphics are astoundingly good, such as the time portals that you step into and some of the backdrops. The voice work is top notch, particularly   for a smaller budget game. The storyline is ...

  • I didn't know/forgot you were a giantbomb member. Just saw your comment on the Darkest of Days quick look. I have played a good chunk of the game, and frankly it's pretty great. Definitely not worthy of being full price, but I've gotten at least $15 of enjoyment out of it.

Changed the word "award" to the more grammatically correct "reward" as regards the items Ben can win from opponents in motorcycle battles.

  • As someone who pays a lot of attention to security (I listen to Security Now!) I would recommend AVG for the occasional sweep, NOD 32 if you plan to run it all of the time, and Windows Defender as your spyware program. Also download the Microsoft MSRT, which will quickly remove a lot of infections. It runs regularly in Vista behind the scenes on its own.

  • My longest game would probably be a game of Age of Empires 2 that ran from 8 in the evening until 4 or 5 AM. We were playing on a map that I created (that hugely advantaged my team), but with a small passage in the middle to make the game super long. Our opponent cheated with a trainer to give him more units and resources than possible, but we ...

  • GIVEMEREPLAY commented on Vinny's video TANG: Hitman
I really appreciate the quality of this video. I'm amazed that you guys can show a full scene of the flick without worrying about copyright. However that's done, it's awesome, and I appreciated it.

  • I'm sad to see that the forums on GB haven't really taken off to any degree. Dedicated sites like TF2F (for tf2) have a dozen or more new threads per day, but  the forum for TF2 here has only 85. I've been a GB user since the beginning (before the real site dropped), and when I tried to find out where the forums were for a specific game I had ...

If  I can get Vista 64 working properly, probably some TF2, crysis and possibly some UT2003. Lets hope the latter isn't as bad as Jeff said.

A Far Better Game- A Great Experience (PC)
Crysis Warhead is a far, far better game than Crysis. Even if you didn't like Crysis, you should give Warhead a go. The storyline is tremendously good, and it actually makes you care about the characters and the outcome of the game. Shockingly, Psycho's voice becomes endearing, rather than being ...

A Pathetically Bad Game (PC)
American McGee's Grimm is as pathetic and boring as professional games get. In short, the first edition of this game requires you to walk around using the mouse, while not interacting with other characters directly (all of which are sans personality), and then "buttstomp" an object once you have walked ...
