For video games, Kickstarter is a call back to the past. The nostalgia factor of "Hey remember how many of my old games you used to love?" Or "Remember that game you played when you were like 10-15? Haven't you always wanted a sequel to that?" runs high.

Small companies run into the problem that they can't make the same call back to these feeling older gamers have. In my opinion small Kickstarter-centric projects need to start selling themselves as a brand as well as the project that they are trying to make. So that people who donate feel that they are helping the company grow as well as funding the creation of a game.

The idea of a game completely crowd sourced from donators would be an amazing clusterfuck of a game to see be made =)

I am in the middle of my ME2 play and I already an feeling the tug of looking things up online. I am playing mostly paragon, and know that my Shepard wants things to go a certain way and what her motivations are in the game, if I were to lose some party members, I personally would feel cheated. While I don't really have any attachments to Jack, she is still a party of this crazy ass team and losing her would suck. When that fateful suicide mission comes, if it doesn't go my way I don't know if I'll be able to keep myself from going back to my last save. Great article Patrick!

I have not posted in what my Wordpress tells me is about three weeks, and I would like to update on what is going on, its been a busy time for me. I would also like to thank everybody who commented me.

The end of the swim season came hard and fast, with the first half of the week being spent preparing to leave for championships and then leaving early Thursday for the three day event. Props to the WPU swim team for great swims!!! Upon getting home late Sunday night I promptly hugged my computer and slept for what felt like the entirety of Presidents Day.

The next two weeks were spent searching for work, getting picked up by a local tax preparing home and then passing my test to become a certified tax preparer. It is not the greatest job in the world but I seem to be enjoying it well enough. Plus I need some way to fund my gaming habit. (saving for a fight stick)

But to the real reason for this post. You GUYS!!!

When I first thought about writing about this idea, I never thought there would be even one person who would take the time to read it. Now that I've settled into my new schedule and got back on some of my favorite sites I was surprised to find that not only had others read my little article, some had even commented on it! It just floored me that people would respond and the response was overwhelmingly supportive.

I would just like to thank everyone. I know that this is not the only solution to my weight issue and that along with the gaming, I am going to have to have a better diet and an overall healthier lifestyle, but this was a way to tell my story and be a part of the gaming community. It was like three birds for one stone! You can't beat that.

I am going to be much more active now that my schedule is more regular. For anyone interested Frmpartsunknown is my summoner name, id be glad to play anytime

I am and for as long as I can remember always been a hefty guy. It has never really been that big of a deal for me.

Now there is a girl...

We have been together for 5 years now. We have had our ups and downs just like any other normal relationship. I proposed last May on our anniversary and the plan is to get married on or about May of 2013.

I do not want to be a fat husband, I don't want to be a fat father.I have just over of a year to go from a hefty 245 to a fit and trim 185. Time is not on my side.

This is where video games come in. It is my passion and love. If I could, I would dedicate my life to it. Video Games are one of the few things that I can really put time into and concentrate on. I have decided to incorporate exercise into my daily video game playing.

I am currently addicted to League of Legends (LoL), one of the most popular MOBAs on the market. For those who do not know what LoL is all about, it is a PvP, 5 on 5 game where the objective of the game is to destroy the enemy base. It plays out a little like an RPG without the story. Anyway one of the game mechanics keeps track of your kills, deaths, and assists. For each time that I die, I will do one of the following:

-5 pushups

-5 situps

-5 squats

-1 attempt of a pull up (hey I'm fat cut me some slack)

Hopefully this will allow me to improve my game and get some exercise at the same time. As time goes on and I will increase the reps per death and add harder exercises as well.

I will keep track of my progress by streaming all of my games. One or two in the morning and a few at night as well. Join me at twitch.tv/frmpartsunknown and see how I am doing. I plan on learning and streaming SC2 as well as fighting games.

Ill also keep track of how everything is going on my wordpress blog, http://professiongamer.wordpress.com/. Support the fat to fit movement.

Wish me luck...

he is one of the few people who knew before he died that he had touched the lives of millions of people. Love apple or hate apple, you would not even have the chance to do so if it were not for him. He was a industry changer.

RIP

Why are people making such a stink about this? The EULAs for Valve and iTunes, for example, are way more intrusive than the PSN's. And anyway, if millions of people's credit cards got stolen again, the company would be held responsible again. Simple as that.

And you made us a template? Articles like this are pure fear-mongering. I love GB, but Mr. Klepek brings down the whole site.

How is it fear-mongering exactly? He simply reported on a change of the TOS in reaction to Sony latest breach. Knowing most people just simply agree to those TOS he is doing his job reporting it.

The thing you clearly don't realize is that Sony might be responsible for the money they lost, good luck on making your house payment, car payment, car insurance, cell phone bill, and others when you just lost all of your money in your checking because Sony got hacked again.

I'm sure it would take Sony longer than a month to get everyone's money back so missing those payments would cause your credit to drop. Now how is Sony going to make up for that? They are not going to. That is something you have to settle in court and good luck going up against Sony by yourself (which is what you are agreeing to in this tos) in court with no money, because they just lost it.

i think you anwsered your own question because your statement is textbook fearmongering. How many people were reported who lost money because of the sony hack awhile ago. You can't name any because there were none to my knownage or not alot of people to make a fuss over. Sony offers free ID theft service and this agreement does not stop you from sueing sony for this. This is in place to slow down class action lawsuit for people who like to create them for the fun of it. any suit on sony will still be taken to court and if both parties agree class action lawsuits can still happen. so this does not really change anything, that is why this can be fear mongering because it shocks readers without giving them the full story.

The idea that because Sony provides a service to help you because of a failure of Sony does not mean that Sony has you best interest in thought.

The issue here is that Sony is asking you to give up a legal right on the basis that should a problem arise, Sony would like the upperhand in the suit. Whether or not you as a customer ever exercise the right is none of Sony's business. The belief that because the news of lost consumer money was not all over the news it did not really happen is preposterous. There is really no way to know. So once a customer has had their card taken and credit destroyed, said customer has to spend a considerable amount of time to get their credit back (can take years) as well as try to find out why it happened. And after all this they were able to link it back to Sony, because of this revision the customer no longer has the right to find other like-effected people and join together to hold Sony accountable.

Your answer simply gives up to Sony, it holds the lazy belief that if it is not on the web it didn't happen. You want to be David facing the Giant with nothing but a sling. Fine. I would rather have the option of bringing a team to the fight.
