I could not help but notice that pages on this site do not seem to have an edit history like Wikipedia. Sometimes these are useful if changes to a page are made that later need to be undone for whatever reason, or even to just compare versions and see perhaps why something was changed to begin with. I know that this is a Wiki, and one needs to expect that anything they do might get altered at some point, but I like to have the assurance of knowing that I can at least look back at what I had written in the first place.
At this point, it's branding. People associate the name with quality games and just having his name on something I'm sure increases its sales. They do it with Tom Clancy too (even though he isn't a game developer) and he sold the rights to his name...whatever sense that makes.
You need the cable to display the games in high definition, period. Otherwise they will just be standard definition, even on a HDTV. HDMI cables can be purchased a lot cheaper online than what most major retailers sell them for, so if you don't mind waiting, I would highly suggest doing that. Most of the big retailers like to sell only "premium" ones so they can make more money off of them. It's a digital signal though so there really is no practical difference in functionality.
On a side note, DVI and HDMI signals and cables are similar in functionality. The chief difference is that DVI does not carry sound. I don't think the XBox 360 has a DVI out. I just figured I would point that out for future reference.
