Do you still play PS2, XBOX, or Gamecube games?

I play my PS2 games on my PS3 all the time, but I'm wondering if any of you guys do the same. It's also great that you can PS2 games for dirt cheap now at Gamestop/EB Games... I just got Red Faction II for $4.99!!

So anyway, going back to my original question: do you guys still play PS2, XBOX, or Gamecube games, or have you "moved on" from that generation?

On rare occasions, yes. Not anytime lately. I'd still love to play Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2, but neither of my Xbox controllers work anymore, and it's not compatible with the 360. The controllers are $50 new online. I'm not buying a used controller, so forget it.

Also, turns out if I wanted to buy KOTOR2, I'm looking at a $120 purchase. I could always play it on PC, but... naw....

Played a bunch of Persona 4 and recently picked up Luigi's Mansion for GC. I love my old consoles.

Yes.

I still play all of my old systems, regularly, and am just getting into old PS1 and Wii Virtual Console downloadable games I've missed out on in the past.

PS2 is currently the only console I own and I have it for my Metal Gear fix, but once the PSV comes out and I can play Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 in my hands I will probably never touch my PS2 again.

I WILL finish that Xbox copy of Silent Hill 2. I WILL. It's on my to-play shelf.

Yeah I do. I'm currently in the middle of playing Resident Evil Remake. Also set my ps2 up once a month and play some Persona 4. I also intend to finish the following PS2 games

  • Silent Hill 2,3,4
  • Project Zero (Fatal Frame)
  • Persona 3 FES (Will most likely only play The Answer since I am doing the main game on my psp)

Ever since my old PS3 with BC died I haven't touched my PS2 games. I kinda want to go back and play my last gen games again because the drought of games between now and September is going to be long.

I play games from that era and I've been known to play old Cube games on my Wii. Xbox and PS2 died on me long ago though.

What do you use to emulate?

PCSX2 FTW.

Thanks, friend. This goes out to you...

Holy crap the 90s were great. Sucks to be anything from the xbox/ps2 generation onward.

No. I have occasionally gone back to some old Gamecube games, but they probably look better in my memories than they would in real-life.

I'm way behind the times - sadly, I don't own a single current-generation console. I recently got Persona 4 on the PS2 after watching the Endurance Run. I'm almost finished but I find the dungeons kind of tedious so I haven't played in a while, even though I was planning to finish and finish a full-social-link New Game+ over the summer. At some point I'll probably get over that hump and start a new game.
I also recently played Windwaker on the Gamecube and finally finished the Nintendo Gallery after perhaps 7-8 years of owning the game. I went back and replayed Super Mario Sunshine for a bit a few years ago as well.

My most recent game purchase was also a relatively old game, although not on a console - I got Assassin's Creed 2 as a download after seeing it for seven buck or something on Amazon. That's still pretty new compared to Persona 4 or Windwaker though.

I still play all three! Especially the gamecube. Although I'm trying really hard to find this game on that platform. Here's the description:

A man is killed in broad daylight after he exits his home (I'm assuming he's Japanese. He is gorgeous with beautiful white hair). He is stabbed in the back. He is revived by an androgynous creature (a type of spirit) that tells him that he will help him find out who killed him. If he finds out who kills him, he will be able to stop his death from happening. The man must delve in his past (using time travel) to piece clues together to find out whom has killed him. I know I LOVE this game but I have no idea what it is called.

I don't think there is any reason to get rid of old consoles though.

Nope. I've sold all my PS2/Xbox/G-Cube games. But I've bought some games from that era for the PC...Does that count?

I still play xbox games from time to time, but not the games that most people would think of. The only time I play the xbox is to play Fuzion Frenzy, the Haunted Mansion, Tiger Woods 06, Grabbed by the Ghoulies, and others. I just use it to play games I really cannot play anymore, and I loved (and still love) all those games that I mentioned.

I haven't in well over a year. I'd never sell any of the games because I like the idea that I could go back and play them if I wanted to, but in practice they just collect dust. Most of my modern gen games are just collecting dust as well though.

A ton. My Wii might as well be a Gamecube, and I still play a lot of PS2 and XBOX games I missed out on.

I got a ps2 slim last year to play some old games that I didn't get to play when they came out since I only has an Xbox 1 back in those days.

When I will have finished Persona 4, I have Final Fantasy 12 and Persona 3 FES (and more) to play on the ps2.

I would still play certain Ps2/XBOX games if I still had my PS2 and Xbox.

Actually, a lot of games from back then still look pretty good, mostly.

Some of my favorite games are from that generation. Metroid Prime, Persona 3, Kingdom Hearts 2...new titles are great, but sometimes the older generations are just more enjoyable.

Because like Citizen Cane, you can revisit these masterpieces again and again!

Joking aside, I like me some Wave Race: Blue Storm from time to time. Something about this game just.. relaxes me. There are a lot of older games that hold up pretty well for me, since I´m not that much of a graphics whore. The only thing that bothers me are old PC games that don´t run well at all on modern systems. And that I remember almost everything about these games, so I can´t replay the whole thing since I will get bored quickly.
