Can I mention a kickstarter campaign that is over, finished, funded and reached all stretch goals in the process?

Because the two (2) guys who developed this very awesome game started a campaign a month ago to take this game that is currently on PS3 (and already pretty good if you like tough action games) and add pvp, coop, more gear, more bosses etc. And bring it to PC, Vita, WiiU and as the final stretch goal also XBone and PS4.

And it is coming! PC is coming out in September, consoles shortly after (Nov, Dec) Beta starts in June.

They say it is a game that you "beat", "not finish". And that describes it well.

Here is SBFP playing the PS3 version:

Disclaimer: This post is not directly related to DkS2, so feel free to ignore!

-------------------------

I recently stumbled over this obscure little indie gem on PSN (made by two guys in Bulgaria).

Combat is tactical and challenge is very much present. The story however is a bit "light". Perfect for somebody like me who doesn't always have the time to play an 80hr RPG but cutting my teeth on a 5min arena, failing three times and then finally making it. That time I usually have a few times a week.

And since they currently have a kickstarter open to bring it to PC, add multiplayer etc. I thought I'd mention it here. Since it might be right up the DkS crowds alley. They are already funded btw. But since I am a selfish bastard and I would love to have this kind of game on my Vita (their next stretch goal), I thought I'd mention it here.

Excited to give this a second shot, I dunno if I missed something the first time but I found it insanely difficult and barely played a few missions. That always bugged me.

I don't remember it being insanely difficult. I was getting terrible mission ratings for the first half of the game and getting lots of characters killed but I was scraping through and didn't need to replay many missions. Maybe you actually are missing something, like leveling up the classes or upgrading your equipment? Or maybe you've just made poor decisions like leveling up snipers and engineers instead of troopers and scouts? I never used Orders but people generally consider them to be OP.

Lol, I didn't figure out the order system until I replayed it. I never even knew where to get them.

But no, it isn't that difficult. But then I struggled on different maps than people tend to complain about. The first time I played the desert map with the fog it completely puzzled me how to properly advance my units in the number of moves allotted. (The answer has been mentioned in this thread a few times, scouts).

And no, engineers are not such a bad investment.

Also, Rosie!

p.s. I endorse the VC anime on Crackle. It actually tells the story of the first game true to source and quite watchable.

I'm about to dive into Valkyria Chronicles for the first time ever, I only have Valkyria Chronicles 2.

Do you urge me to play the first one before the second or is it ok to just dive into the second?

I thought the second game was kinda bad... So... I'd urge you to play the first game.

Didn't find an actual response to the question.

it doesn't really matter which you play first. In terms of gameplay and tactics the second is a little different from the first in that it splits the maps so the psp can handle them. That adds a different twist. There is also a really nifty class added that I hugely enjoyed playing. You will probably want to come back to the second game again after you played the first tho. Because, you know, you can play as Selvaria in 2 :)

The comparison isn't the golden chest but the eridium chests in the Tina DLC.

And yes, it has happened to me yesterday. I got back to Concordia or whatever its called after the Bodom or whatever he's called battle and had all of 6 moonstones on me. Then it dawned on me that the chests with the useless level 12 purple gear on my level 14, post boss level 15, toon used up all my stones.

I guess I'll know next time. Then again, what do these chests look like anyways? At least in the tina DLC they had the glowy things on top and you got asked how much you want to bet.

p.s. do bosses ever drop useful loot. Or do their 'splosions spread it so far I don't see it?

Sweet. Although missing the bookmark :)

But why Warder. Just takes more time for your shield bonus to come back. Sign me up for a cat or binder!

No mic is a plus in my book. I will add you if I remember your alias but my playtimes are super limited and erratic :)

Why don't you check the Gearbox forums there are plenty of folks willing to help out there.

I have probably put 2 or 300 hours into BL2 and I don't give a rats ass about the story. The characters yes. But the story who cares.

Also what poster above me says. BL marathon sounds like a slippery slope. These games are borderline mmo crack.

I resent no Siren! Why no playable Angel?

If I play it I am leaning Nisha for the whip! But I am actually not 100% convinced I need to play it yet. The reviews are all pretty meh. And I like that I can take my BL2 toons with me on my Vita...

@peezmachine you mean that 1 point I put in Res for Maya? Yea, that seems a bit steep :)

@reddonkeyham: haven't checked here in a while. The answer to your question is yes. it is very easy to play with randoms on PS3. I was just playing this weekend and there is always a full list of games to join. I also opened my game for others and it only takes a minute or two for folks to show up.

I am sure this will change rather quickly once the pre sequel is out.
