This sounds like one of the few not terrible uses for cloud computing. ArcheAge just launched and it lags like crazy and has a million billion people all camping every spawn. If this makes it so people can spread out fast great. It sounds awesome for MMOs, but for single player games? No thanks, I'll take my software and hardware limitations for the illusion of actually owning a piece of software, thanks.

This blows, a lot. APB was one of those crazy projects that float on a wing an a prayer. It was supposed to be way huge and awesome but it was terrible. Just gunna result in more studios not taking chances on crazy wild projects. I predict another season of stupid safe sequels.

This should have coop with Frank and Chuck. Think how hilarious, Chuck Greene making retardedly deadly weapons and Frank West scrambling around trying to take pictures.

You have to appreciate a company that goes to such lengths for stupid jokes. It's truly inspirational.

There is a lot of places a formula like this can go wrong. All the Korean MMOs have experience gain orbs and fancy super equipment you can buy from the store for real cash. However the better ones don't. The japanese developed Shin Megami Tensei Online just lets you buy dye for your clothes, or more storage space, or other "help but not break the game" stuff.
 
My brother is balls deep in a game called Mabinogi, anothe Japanese developed free to play MMO. In it you can only progress so far levelling before you have to "Rebirth" or start from zero again. At this point you lose your levels but retain skills gained. Also any mounts can only be gained through the store, as well pets can be bought.  Recently Mabinogi has made rebirthing free, one per character per week. Plus it's been one of the better supported games, seeing regular influxes of new content and events.
 
Also yo I played Gunz. That game was fun for awhile then I remembered I HATE deathmatch games. Also dudes were cheating and making it so they could fly or not be killed. Cheaters ruin everything.
