That is odd. I was under the impression many Japanese developers were hard to keep up with the times, but Capcom is not one of them.

I am guessing they shelved that feature to have the game in time and within budget. Maybe they can update it later if enough people want it.

No way. He sounds like the kind of guy that would check out why the metal fence is doing that buzzing sound... with his hands.

Besides, there are no macaronis and cheese in prison, so he would be rather weak most of the time...

@forteexe21: Are they going to do a "game of the generation"? I thought they just came out with it as a way of making fun of the concept...

OT: I hope they do. I miss some of the dynamic of the entire team, and the goty is a big enough event to justify getting them all together.

Global Warming.

Overpopulation is a serious issue, but it can be corrected with birth control policies in relatively little time (and not having enough food to feed a family is a pretty natural and effective, though cruel, method of population control). Global Warming and contamination, on the other hand, have lingering effects that can last for generations or get irreversible.

There was a popular commercial here that had the lyrics of several songs replaced by phonetically similar ones in Spanish. The idea was to make fun of people that, not knowing English, changed songs to something unrelated and that made little sense. The most prominent example was Rhythm of the Night, by Corona.

It had the unintended effect of making me thing of the lines in Spanish every time I hear the song.

How about an endurance run of Asura's Wrath with Dan Ryckert?

That game is basically an anime with prompts...

When I first read the title, I thought SE was unhappy about 15, and Nomura was kicked out of it (which would be worrisome this late in development, but at least showed that SE was interested in shaking things up). But it seems like he is still quite involved and that he simply changed focus after the development of 15 was on its way. I think they expect the project to be on auto-pilot now.

I am kind of worried about the multi-director thing. One of the best things about Japanese games is that they feel like singular visions. Even when bad, they are, at least, unique in some way. Final Fantasy 12 really suffered as a result of changing hands several times during development... I just hope this doesn't happens again.

Is any of you familiar with the work of Tabata? I never played the games he previously worked...

Ok, here are some thoughts.

  • That giant turtle thing looks really awesome...
  • I like the look of the battle system. It seems a lot more based on skills than stats, which could be a good thing. I don't know how it works, though (specially the other characters), so I am holding judgement. It looks like a combination of Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy 12, which is not a good thing on my book (I hated the combat in 12)...
  • I like that the design of the characters is more grounded. I certainly have nothing about visual variety and bizarre fashion sense, but I think Final Fantasy went overboard with that several years ago...
  • I do feel they may exaggerate with the "matching colors boys band" approach. I know it sounds contradictory with the previous sentence, but, would it hurt them if they included a different cloth color that is not black over black? It made the characters very hard to distinguish from one another in battle.
