I noticed the Chromecast Crash issue today for the first time, it is a real bummer. Luckily, the KODI plugin still works fine (it didn't for a time which is why I switched to phone+chromecast).
Thanks guys. I actually got it to work by imputing the RSS link into the "search" field at the top of the podcast app. All subscribed to the premium podcasts now. I guess it worked because I was signed into the website.
@nikorag: Hey Jamie. I have 2 questions... how is this different than the official Google Cast extension for Chrome (I mean are there any additional advantages? Does it run smoother than the "stream your tab to the TV" functionality?) ...and would it be possible to make something like this for other browsers? Not a programmer myself, so I don't know much about the details. Thanks!
I've been watching Giantbomb recently via Chromecast because the plugin stopped working. I just installed your plugin over the existing one (Raspbmc on a Rapsberry Pi), all the settings are still there, and it seems to work fine.
I don't know how many users there are watching Giantbomb with XBMC/Kodi, but if this plugin can be in the official repo, that would be great!
Licensing the necessary technology patents to support either format would have ultimately proved too costly.
In this regard, Iwata is probably correct. You can buy a DVD player for less than a tank of gas these days...
... just shows how expensive gas is these days. eh? Seriously, it can't be THAT expensive if the standalone players are that cheap! You contradict yourself.
Blu-Ray maybe, but DVD? Wouldn't put Nintendo in that embarrassing situation they found themselves last year, when Mario Galaxy shipped with a DVD that the Wii couldn't play.
