I'm actually liking the sound of this. The Nintendo Direct videos are basically miniature E3 presentations, and as bizarre as it might sound to have no E3 conference, it's only weird because everyone's gotten so used to the spectacle and one-upsmanship that generally happens there. Remember Cirque Du Soleil?
I'm looking forward to the possibility of a world where E3 is less about bullshit and more about games.
Then this is your year. Companies need to sell their consoles, so expect a lot of tech talk and games talk in place of dancing Ushers. While I'm sure we might see those "LOL LOOK AT THIS CELEBRITY" moments pop up again, MS and Sony know that they're not going to hit the ground running with Kinect/Move. They need games, games and more games, plus some cool features.
Or at least I hope they realize it. If Sony's reveal event was an indication, they do, but I guess we just have to wait and see.
Wow, can't believe the response this is getting here. Or maybe I can. Apparently, "U GAY BRO?" is the equivalent of a "sick burn" now.
If suggesting that one might enjoy looking at some burly , half-naked men in a homoerotic scenario is the equivalent of "u gay bro?" then what have Epic & Co been saying to us all these years?
Incidentally, is there something so wrong with being gay that it's a vile insult to even suggest it, jokingly? "Dude doesn't approve of sexy witch, perhaps he'd prefer sexy dwarf." I don't see how that suggests anything bad about gay people or the specific guy in question.
What? How does Epic have anything to do with this? Yes, games like Gears of War features burly men but it never says to the player "hey man you don't like ladies, right? you like these dudes don't you? I bet you do." I don't see how it's at all relevant.
And yes, gay is used as an insult all the time. I don't think I have to explain this. It's not right but it happens. And it happened right here.
If I recall correctly, there was a video game amendment attached on one of those bills that might have led to research/regulation of the industry that went down with the bill. So at least that didn't pass. I don't want to assume anyone's position on the bill, but I was hoping the background check would pass -- but without the games amendment.
Is the balance in this game really as horrendous as it seems? On the quick look it looked like Deathstrike (don't know the DC characters well, sorry if I messed it up) could just zone people all day and it was very hard to get in on him. Same with Green Arrow. I'm definitely interested in this game (looks like an amazing deal of fun), but while balance isn't a deal breaker, it'd be nice to know about ahead of time.
@starfoxa: No. That video from Vine on Twitter was the two explosions. Those police officers didn't react at ALL.
There are also reports that ball-bearings are everywhere. For those who remember the 7 July attacks, that was four Islamist extremists using ball-bearing IEDs.
