@privodotmenit: if you have a tough month and can't make ends meet to pay for another month of PSN then Somy won't care. Likewise as a paying customer it's not your problem that they are getting "hit hard" - once you start asking people to pay money for your service you're taking on a certain responsibility to provide that service. Also as mentioned above PSN has been down intermittently throughout the year, not just now. For all their chest pounding and mocking of Microsoft on various issues, Sony is still having a hard time getting their act together on a great many aspect of their new console. they are getting dangerously close to making a full loop of becoming too boastful once again.

He enjoys it, I don't give a fuck. It might get annoying during the final talk, but the same can be said about Jeff not liking Shadow of Mordor.

Fuck Shadow of Mordor. It plays well but the story is garbage and the mission design is terrible.

So, it's like Destiny?

It's nothing like Destiny, Shin. Shadow of Mordor has a story; Destiny's stor... Shadow of Mordor has a story.

Morder has.. loosely connected events that kind of pivot around the same general idea and lead to a culmination of sorts.. yes.

Destiny - lifeless but very nice looking

Dragon Age: Inquisition - sometimes this game looks grungy as heck and sometimes it really surprises you

Wolfenstein: The New Order - with the typical Rage engine caveat that you need to be standing still and looking at things far away - well Ok it looked pretty good in other places too, surprisingly really good. That whole game is really surprising in a pleasant way

Watchmen and I still haven't watched it. I've seen the movie mind you, just not the Blu ray.

@dudeglove: Pineapple Express was really good for a variety of reasons. I'm trying to think of non-US comedy movies of late and I'm kind of drawing a blank.

Alpha Pappa

while i'm not a fan of edgar wright's shtick (I think it's overdone to the same scale as those frat pack prats), this video makes some excellent points as to the differences.

Yeah , very true many films fail on a visual level these days (for example half of Withnail & I's humor is built aroun the surroundings and reactions to situations but the cast and it's one of the greatest comedies ever), but if you haven't seen Alpha Papa I recommend it. Great one liners and some fantastic visual gags as well.

Like the video posted above states early on, it's all a matter of personal taste. The beginning example of how to make "transitions" funny is actually a perfect showing of that. The Simon Pegg clip was, in my opinion, no more engaging than your typical helicopter/landmark shots. It's clear that the author of the video really loves and respects that particular type of comedy but it's not for everyone. I do really enjoy Simon Pegg in various movies but I thought Shaun of the Dead was just O-K and didn't care much for Hot Fuzz, although it's been a long time since I've seen either, so who knows maybe for some reason I would be able to appreciate it more.

No arguing here that American comedies can be grating, but I think the idea that specifically American comedies are worse than lets say British ones is because the US releases so many of them throughout the year and a good 3/4 of them are aimed at the lowest common denominator. They make money so they keep filming them, and the sheer ratio of good to bad sort of ruins it for everyone. I enjoyed The Other Guys quite a bit but I really dislike most of the stuff Will Ferrell is in - Get Hard is looking really, really bad.

@shindig: he makes fun of everything equally and his games have very unique humor that you would never see in similarly big budget productions elsewhere. His sense of humor is exactly the one thing that shouldn't change as it really helps to define Metal Gear as something more than just another action game.

The second entry in the amazing Metal Gear Scanlon 2 series is over. I really loved every moment of it and wanted to commemorate the occasion with a cool poster. Obviously there are a ton of fans since I saw some other awesome artwork on the site and I hope we can see the series quickly pick back up after the break.

Tagging: @danryckert into the thread since I know he frequents the forums. Pictured from left to right are Jason, Dan and Drew.
