People need to learn to read.  You don't need to have finished Dead Space, you just need a saved game.  If you lose yours, open up Dead Space and play the first 5 minutes and then save first chance you get.

FUCKING WOW YOU GOT A PLASMA CUTTER.

Marketing bullshit.

I doubt there's any significant improvements at all.  It's still UE3.  At best, they likely optimized it a bit more. (allowing them to use better graphical settings on weaker hardware)  PC version is still king.

Also, they should patch in the interactive comic thing into the other versions of ME2.  I coulda sworn Casey Hudson came on the bombcast before ME2 came out saying that the questioning sequence just after the start of the game was going to allow you to choose the important decisions for you if you weren't importing, but it never did. (Forcing you to either replay ME1 or use the community powered solution of downloading a saved game to make a new character that didn't use the default decisions)

@Diamond:

Honestly those screenshots don't look any different than the game did for me on the PC.  Guess we'll see when it comes out but it's unlikely that they'll touch models/textures at all.

There's a drastic difference between a "remake" and a "rerelease", and I think what this is is developers cashing in on older titles because all they have to do is slap HD on the box and increase the resolution and of course, make it run on the newer consoles and voila.  Not entirely a bad thing of course as it's good for people who simply missed the games the first time around, but if it gets anymore common (With any and every game older than a couple years being ported) it's going to start pissing me off.

@WinterSnowblind:

I'll believe it when I see it.

The sheer amount of effort involved in upgrading all the visual assets of the game completely contradicts the idea of releasing old games for cheap to make some easy money.

"Keeping with the current rerelease trend, BG&E's models and textures will be receiving a resolution bump, bringing the game up to 1080p"

Uh, what.

I highly doubt they're going to touch the models and textures at all.  They're probably just going to bump up the rendering resolution.  It's not any different than playing the game at 1900x1080 on the PC version.

Oh don't tell me, you guys didn't know that 1280x720 was the equivalent of 720p?, which means if you've ever played a game at a resolution of 1280x1024 or higher, you were playing them in a larger resolution than 720p.

It won't split the userbase.  The DOW2/CR userbase will migrate over to RT.  There won't be a userbase for the base games within 3 months of RT coming out. Anyone who plays multiplayer actively will migrate over.

Nope.  They're basically left to rot.  Buying Retribution will give you all existing content and the new stuff.  An unfortunate side effect of switching matchmaking providers but it's what the community has wanted for a while, and spending the extra $20 (Assuming that they're going to sell it full price, they may still be awesome and sell it at an expansion pricepoint) will be well worth it.

I'm a huge multiplayer fan though, I'd imagine if you're just in it for the singleplayer stuff you'll likely get Retribution anyway.  (In which case you're covered on the multiplayer front should you choose to play it)

@Crushed:

The difference here is that this is an exclusive deal with a single service provider.  While most committed server owners weren't running their servers on their own PC and did rent from server providers, they had the option of choosing the provider.  With a monopoly on it, the quality of service could be absolute shit and there's nowhere else people can get servers from.
