Seeing Drew play through ALttP in a Metal Gear Scanlon-esque fashion would be interesting, if only because I think it would reveal some of the parts that required a Nintendo Power subscription back in the day, which many die-hard fans of that game tend to gloss over when calling it "timeless"
Not surprising that ALttP is at the top because I know I'm the minority on the opinion that it's heavily overrated. I played through it for the first time about two years ago, and I found it to be a heavily-flawed and frustrating experience; Ganon's Tower may be the worst dungeon out of any game in the series.
I think it must have been 8-4 if it was post-E3; the only guests I can recall from the Bomb/Beastcasts during that time are Will Smith, Peter Brown, the Iron Galaxy "holy trinity," and of course Austin. Danielle Riendeau was on the Beastcast around January and Nina Freeman, I think, only appeared in the extra life stream. There was a woman with Iron Galaxy (can't remember her name, she barely talked), but I don't think they ever mentioned anything about Let's Plays...
It's a bit weird that we're now commenting a four-year-old topic, but I guess I'll chime in: basically, I think kids should follow the rating system (which is what I had to do growing up). Not necessarily because of the violence or other stuff, but rather because they just wouldn't "appreciate" certain titles in some ways. For instance, I was too young to play GTA 4 when that came out, but I can guarantee you that its storyline wouldn't have resonated with me as much if I had played it alongside all of my friends back in 2008. I think the same goes with movies and books too: would you show anyone under the middle/high school age something like Requiem for a Dream? You may be alright with them seeing the violence/drug use, but the message may be lost upon them.
I think there's a difference between trying out some of his interests and "modeling your life" after him. No, I would never model my life after him. I have to say though, I am extremely envious of his metabolism; I'm probably a little bit lighter than Dan, but that's with watching what I eat and cardio every day, not full packages of Taco Bell/Red Vines and 10+ sodas a day...
