@vinny I have to admit... I was one of those people with my kid's gender reveal a few years ago (it was originally unlisted, but I made it public so others could use it if they wanted):

I actually put a couple of hours of work into that video though (I actually imported the real geometry and rebuilt the shaders and did my own camera fly by in 3DS Max and then video post in After Effects), and it was part of our party my parents and in-laws wanted to throw for us. We had The Legend of Zelda themed food items like bowls of red, green, and blue Jolly Ranchers as "rupees." Everyone who came really got into it and it was fun!

...please don't hate me. :\

Edit: Just found my Mom's Pinterest where she took pictures and shared all of the themed items she put together.

Regarding Vegeta's voice, I grew up watching the original "Ocean dub" team, and though I have grown to like some of Funimation's team more over the years - early Vegeta was voiced by a guy named Brian Drummond (the same guy who voices Ryuk now on the anime version of Death Note).

Looking back now, I'd actually say Drummond's take on Vegeta's voice was much more "visceral" than Christopher Sabat's take. I'd maybe even describe it as more appropriately "vicious."

Drummond is also the one who is the voice you hear in the famous "Over 9,000" meme, not Sabat. (Also in Kai, they fix the mistranslated number so that it's 8,000)

Christopher Sabat has grown on me more since then, but I do wish they would have had actually hired a bigger full voice cast and not just been cheap and had Sabat play so many voices early on than he ended up doing permanently (Mr. Popo, Korin, Grandpa Gohan, Piccolo, Yamcha, Kami, Vegeta, ShenLONG, Chi-chi's dad The Ox-King, Zarbon, all of the Ginyu Force except Goldo, etc.)

Last fun little note - I know I'm getting way ahead for the folks who aren't familiar with the Dragon Ball universe in general, but I thought I'd share this fun fact that apparently in Dragon Ball Super, Funimation got Drummond to come back to play the voice of a clone of Vegeta that he ends up fighting. Really fun little fan-service-y thing to do, but I loved it nonetheless.

@jeff@brad@unastrike After listening to you guys talk about dark John Arbuckle / Garfield, I want to recommend that you go and watch the fairly recent film "The Voices" as soon as possible and read as little as you can about it before you do. All I will tell you is that it's basically the REAL Garfield movie we always imagined - even has the talking jerk orange cat and a dumb dog.

Don't even watch this trailer if you want it to be best. That's how I saw it... but if you still need convincing:

It was on Amazon free for Prime subscribers a while back, but now I think it's only available for rent / buy (though you can rent it on Amazon for $3).

Seriously though, go watch it ASAP.

Also, Rock the Dragon will always have a special place in my heart... but the first time I heard this instrumental rendition of "Cha-laaaa Head Cha-laaa" on the credits for the original DBZ Budokai on PS2, I changed my mind and decided I liked the melody for that song better - just hated the butt-rock singer mediocre instrumentation in the original Japanese version of the show opening.

SSJ is shorthand for the original translation of "Super Saiyajin" (which was shortened to just "Saiyan" in English so only the dorkiest of dorks shorten it to SSJ instead of SS).

Also... I made this for Ben because I loved his opening for this "not quick look" video thing:

Then, if you're a glutton for punishment, and liked that, and want something 3x as long, here's something like 100 more actual episodes of DBZ compressed down into a sequel that's ~7 minutes long. It covers everything related to the Ginyu force, Frieza, etc arc(s).

If anyone isn't familiar with DBZ, but is at all even remotely interested in learning what DBZ's first like... 25 episodes was in 2 minutes in a somewhat funny way, watch this.
