DBZ uber-nerd corrections (I know... I'm sorry) :

  • "Beerus" is a shitty translation of the tradition of making everyone in DBZ a Japanese pun on his intended name pronunciation of "Beers." His twin brother is named "Champa" as in champagne.
  • "Shenron" is also a shitty translation of the obvious intended name of a mythical ancient Chinese dragon named "Shenlong" which Funimation just never admitted to getting wrong and stubbornly kept as canon. Plays into the Journey to the West Chinese story inspiration bit to Dragon Ball.
  • Anything "Majin" which is a nod to Djinn / demon (I think?) comes from the wizard Babidi (son of bibidi... and again - plays in to the pun of "Bibbidi Babidi Boo" hence... "Buu")
  • "Majin Buu" is the official name for the "fat" Buu character iteration. There were several other "in-between" states of Buu after the fat one was his initial appearance before ultimately all of the other pieces of conflicting good were separated and he became the true form / pure chaotic evil power of "Buu" or "Kid Buu" as he was referred to by the US translation. He was the last enemy in the DBZ series before it ended and then came back later as the hated "DBGT" series which then also ended after a relatively few episodes... then came back again as Dragon Ball Super.

I can't think of any others right now. :)

@simplysy: Sure, but just to be clear, that list I shared is not the official "Giant Bomb Top 10 list" that resulted from their recorded ~5 hour debate.

That's just a cool list that some GB user created by taking the personal lists that each member of the Giant Bomb staff made and then weighting each game they put on their personal top 10 list by using a value attribution based of their rank for the game, and then adding the weighted votes up.

So if, hypothetically speaking, Jeff ranked Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island as his #1 game on his top 10 list, it got 10 points. And if he voted Windjammers as #10 on his list, it got 1 point.

Interesting what's on this list and how it compares to another weighted vote list a YouTube user "Kevin Clark" compiled using the GB crew's own personal top 10 lists.

Pasting his findings here since it was the #1 top liked comment (266 upvotes) on GB's YouTube page for the "Best Game" video:

Here's a weighted list based off the staff's top 10 lists

(Number 1 picks worth 10 points, number 10 picks worth 1 point):

TOP 10 :

RankGamePoints
1Super Mario Odyssey60
2NieR : Automata53
3The Legend of Zelda : Breath of the Wild50
4Wolfenstein II : The New Colossus45
5PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds44
6Cuphead41
7Assassin's Creed Origins20
8Night in the Woods19
9Destiny 219
10Pyre / SteamWorld Dig 214

Destiny 2 and Night in the Woods have the same amount of points but I do not consider it a tie. Rorie had Destiny 2 and Divinity: Original Sin 2 at number 10. I'm not sure what his number 10 would be if he could only chose one, I gave him 1 point for both games.

THE REST:

RankGamePoints
11Horizon Zero Dawn13
12Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator11
13Dead Cells / Uncharted: The Lost Legacy10
14Nioh / Sonic Mania / Splatoon 29
15Yakuza 08
16Rivals of Aether / Tekken 7 / Xenoblade Chronicles 27
17Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice / Hollow Knight / Resident Evil 76
18Middle-Earth: Shadow of War / Monster Hunter Stories / Persona 5 / Fire Pro Wrestling World5
19Absolver / Metroid: Samus Returns / Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands4
20Battle Chef Brigade / Heat Signature / Mr. Shifty3
21Bury Me, My Love / Doki Doki Literature Club / Prey2
22Divinity: Original Sin 2 / Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle / What Remains of Edith Finch1

Credit to Kevin Clark via YouTube comment on GB's final GOTY deliberation video.

Isn't it obvious? Yoshis come from the eggs that fall out of the sky that are laid by the Andy Sandbird.

...I like that you took the time to blend the shadows on the left of his neck to match the body. Bravo.

Jeff: "I want to be a walking talking burrito!"

Now I'm just imagining PlayStation Home but with PUBG mechanics... and now I want that too.

I want to see a literal Arcade cabinet crouch-walking around that stands up up to grow legs when someone stops crouching like in this classic GB video :

(jump to ~6:40 in the above video)

Actually, I want you to be able to have 2 outfits... a "Lobby" outfit that can be completely ridiculous aka "Jeff-Burrito," and a set of more serious potentially better camouflaged "match" gear.
