I'm going to run a pirate VG wrestling company while Bazza takes a break. Ring of Might (RoM) debuts in thirty minutes at twitch.tv/electricviking and will feature the first of two tournaments. The winners will fight to become the inaugural RoM Solo Champion! You might even learn the fates of a few former VGCW "stars" by tuning in. And though the game is WWF No Mercy, there's still plenty of #THQuality to go around.
I didn't back Broken Age, and I wasn't really planning on backing anything else until Wasteland 2 and The Banner Saga dropped. Then I saw this little nugget in the FAQ section:
MASSIVE CHALICE will be a very inclusive game! It’s true that in the pitch video we reference an immortal King (drawn in the likeness of Brad) but in the final game we want the player to have the role of an immortal king or queen. And your bloodlines and fighting force will be made of both male and female heroes – equally capable of splitting demonic skulls!
As somebody with more than a passing interest in gender roles, I think it's pretty cool that whoever was responsible for the copy on that page was able to notice that the pitch video was perhaps not as inclusive as it could have been. Not that I've any doubts about Double Fine's politics, but it is nice to see them expressed so clearly. Hell, it might even make me drop $20. Also, Fire Emblem.
What a horrible way to go. Mr. Reisse will hopefully live on in the memories of those who knew him, and in the lives he will have touched with Rift in the future.
Sorry to bump my own post, but the original video was not working. It has been replaced with a YouTube link. I wouldn't bother, but holy crap this is a game that must be seen to be believed.
