The decision to makes these new stages exist only in coin rush mode is very smart seeing as how that mode is the strongest aspect of the game. You'll force players to dive into it who might not have yet.

Uh people have been criticizing that very thing for many years now. But it's not like they annualize him, or don't come with at least a few fresh elements for each outing

This game is completely vindicated by the streetpass coin rush challenge mode, but that does present the problem/caveat of many 3DS games: they are freaking awesome if you live in a major metropolitan area, streetpassin like a boss. These stages are uniquely designed to force people to use the limited time intelligently during coin rush mode to gather as many as possible. And high-level players can choose to save a Coin Rush record with the more interesting and devious stages involved. Stages without coin spam exploits and flagpoles that are tough to fully mount. Getting that gold crown and beating someone's CR record gets so addictive.

Also some of the later stages are quite fun, and there are some insanely tough hidden exits in the game

F the haters. Quality game. That said, NSMB U will be superior

Hey you guys remember when the 360 and PS3 launched with amazing libraries? (The WiiU launch is actually decently strong compared to the average console launch offering)

No you do not

Most of you saying 'show us some damn games' wouldn't buy this console regardless. There's no reason to front. I get it: everyone has limited funds and limited time, not to mention pre-existing friends lists and account data, but the even the Wii had FAR more quality games than most people know or give it credit for, and that didn't end up swaying the average avid gamer.

Anyway, Nintendo do have an uphill battle on their hands. A repeat of Wii's success is just not going to happen in today's market and they don't exactly have a Wii Sports to offer (I do contend that Nintendoland is ore fun than most of you might think). They need to stress that people can use all of their old Wii stuff and play all of those games on it; show a strong value proposition. Then possibly also shows the general public that it can become a very sleek and versatile universal remote. It's going to be interesting

@cthomer5000: They DID NOT spend all of that Wii/DS profit. That is simply a false statement. They are sitting on one of the highest %s of operating income in their history. They are rolling in fat stacks. Pachter was sharing an OPINION on how he felt that they burnt through the brand equity/clout that they achieved with the Wii. That is at least partially true, but yet to be seen.

Recent operating loses do not mean that Nintendo are suddenly in debt and in danger of dissolving. They simply spent more than they made. It happens constantly in business for a variety of different reasons.

So . . . why/how are people thinking that Nintendo has spent/lost all their Wii profits?! They have an absolutely ludicrous amount of cash reserves (liquid asset). These reports are only telling the story of what a company made vs what they spent in the last fiscal quarter/year. Lately, Nintendo have been spending more and earning less, due to various global currency factors, price drops, expected declining sales of their 6 year-old console, and new manufacturing.

They are in no real financial danger whatsoever. In fact, one might say they are ballin'

Listening to podcasts while running is a fantastic way to be entertained/educated in the midst of your rigorous exercise or daily endorphin high. If you want to keep up on the latest gaming news or listen to opinionated gaming discussion, what better way than to throw on your favorite gaming podcast(s) while hitting the pavement? A few of my favorites are the Gonintendo Podcast, 1up’s Retronauts Podcast, and of course The Bombcast. Each new recording provides fresh perspective/debate as well as a conversational atmosphere to keep those engaged in the run who might find themselves easily bored or dwelling on the strain of the run. Careful with that Bombast though, and prepare for 3/4 of a marathon if you want to run through the entirety of an average Bombcast.

Expanding upon that, this post could also be seen as a way to ease gamers into the running world. If you already have a favorite batch of gaming podcasts, why not get up and move around some while you enjoy it instead of just sitting at home or in your car or on some sort of mass transit system? That’s right, there’s no reason! You’re certainly not going to be gaming while listening to gaming podcasts (at least I hope you don’t). Running and podcasts go together. The gaming world and podcasts go together. Consider that when you download that next ‘cast. I’ll catch you guys later!
