I find it very humorous that your teacher called you out on your gud spelling but didn't bother telling you how to spell conquered.

The two archer's in Anor Londo? That was a boss right?

Sif is very easy to beat if you are melee, have a decent weapon, and a decent shield. Anything with high stability and 100% physical cut pretty much makes him impotent.

Seriously though there are two answers....

Hardest boss to solo.... probably Ornstein and Smough. Hardest in general? Going to depend on playstyle but even though I one shot him Seath should be a front runner or maybe Nito who can be really nasty if you approach it wrong. It is only fair but you also have to consider what it takes to get to them in the first place.

Uh it is easily one of the best JRPG's ever made and is quite honestly my favorite console RPG pretty much.... period? Here comes my patented yes no dialog spiel...

Is the start slow? Yes. Did it age well? No. Has any other PS1 game aged well by today's standards? Uh.... no. Does it have one of the most interesting least trope ridden stories of any JRPG out there with characters you might actually give two shits about by the end? Yes (minus a giant pink rabbit/thing and a quiet chick with a giant mech). Does it follow all the JRPG combat system cliches? No. Will you actually have to think and switch your brain on to understand what is going on? Yes.

So like any piece of entertainment based primarily around a story it is going to be an acquired taste as well as a slow burn. There are times when you will be forced to sit through a long cut scene. Nothing MGS 4 or FF VII level but it will happen. Other than that there are only two legit gripes with the game. First it does have platforming in places and obviously as a PS1 era game that is actually a RPG the platforming is not going to be "great". There is only really one level where it gets downright annoying though and it is thankfully later in the game. Also yes the second half of the game was rushed for a number of reasons which detracts from what had been a very interesting story up until that point. While I also intimated this a moment ago I will also throw out that the story is hardly "trope" filled. It has some characters that will come off as cliche's but for every character that is actually central to the story you will see plenty of development and change over time. There will also be plenty of plot twists that aren't actually mailed in and ultra predictable.

In the end his is the game that Xenosaga was honestly trying to be minus all the over the top effort at pretending to be a movie and insane combat mechanics that made battle a chore half the time and boss fights down right irritating. Also a you don't need a copy of "And so spoke Zarathustra" beside you to understand wtf everyone is talking about in this one. It is a game that cares more about it's story though than the game part but the game part doesn't suck either it just isn't bad ass in a can.

@Ulain: Are you the OP? No? Then why do you think I was talking to you? Don't like the game, don't play? That's fine, more power to you. Doesn't make anything I posted less true. WoW also has 1/3rd less subs today than the day Wrath of the Lich King launched, a kung fu panda expansion with pokemon slapped on isn't going to change that. MMO players are also not harsh critics, they are mostly self entitled punk kids with little to no taste who still think Chuck Norris jokes are actually funny. I would be surprised if the "vocal mmo communuity" thinks any mmo is actually good, SWtOR or otherwise.

Gee for a game that's failing and sucks I sure see people playing it every night. The game is only getting better with time, they have already added new a flashpoint, new operation bosses, a new warzone is coming in a patch soon, blah blah blah. Also alts are rampant, this is the one game where it is actually fun to play as a different character since a good 25% of their quests will always be unique to their class. Not to mention the whole companion/story thing if you care about that.

In other words this is a fine time to start a character. And if you are really that big a taris whiner ;p.... just level in other means (pvp/space missions) and skip the planet except for your class story. It is very very doable.

Imma go out on a limb on this one and say..... Because it does? I played the demo and overall the start is fairly generic, the graphics are also sort of tired tuned up WoW/90's comics fare, but the character customization, combat responsiveness, and shear amount of crap to do were all there in spades. For people who like open world style RPG's with lots of depth this is going to be a solid choice. I am one of those people.

Yeah I am still playing, have no intention to quit either. Also this email is pretty much on par with every other subscription service or online site that you have let lapse or not use in awhile. I get them on other mmo's from EVE to LoTR, hell I even get them from online stores I haven't used in a month or two. They don't mean anything other than that you used to play the game and don't anymore. Like all new mmo's half the people canceled after their free month to wait for the next new mmo or go back to playing that steaming pile of tired crap called WoW just because that is what their dumb friends play. I personally cant wait for the next expac so I can quit without leaving my raid team in the lurch.

Thac0 is actually pretty simple really. D&D ceased being good the day it became more about money and getting mmo players to buy it than it was about being a cool game with a deep set of rules to play with friends. But yada yada yada. Good luck being a fighter who has no stats useful to being a fighter though, hopefully you can go priest/mage sooner rather than later 0cause that's the only classes you got the stat line to be good at.

@Brodehouse said:

The story quests don't scale. Whoever said that needs to do more research.

@Funkydupe: I actually was high enough level by the end of Coruscant (10-16) to completely skip Taris (16-20) and go straight to Nar Shaddaa (20-24).

Yeap Brode is correctamundo. I also skipped Taris too on my first character. You can get plenty of exp from flashpoints, pvp warzones, and space missions to more than make up any level gaps and sometimes even skip side missions. Heck on my first toon I hit 50 shortly after landing on Voss and it only supposed to take you to like 47-48.
