Jurassic Park for nostalgic value but  I'd say my favorite aside from that is either Eaters of the Dead or Andromeda Strain. I've read all of his fiction titles aside from Airframes and Disclosure and enjoyed all of them. Timeline is underrated and Pirate Latitudes gets a lot of shit but it was a manuscript found in his home that no one ever read but him. It was probably years away from being released and was actually pretty good for being incomplete. A rather nice throwback to some of his older pre-JP works.

Are we going to be able to just outright buy the DLC in the US? That would be exactly the same cost as buying 4 Dr. Peppers and is way more convenient.

XIII is no less linear than any other FF game in the last 15 years. And that fact  is hidden no worse than it was in X where it  was painfully obvious you were walking down the only road in Spira for 90% of the game.

No, no it doesn't. Taking away everything you unlocked and making you get it back again to artificially give the game replay value is terrible game design. Why not have more unlocks spread out over more levels with a better XP system

The Sonic 4 rant in its entirety is the best GB quote.

Two and a half hours is the sweet spot for me. Hour to hour and a half or longer is preferred, but I hate those 30 minute or less joints like Sarcastic Gamer. I like to listen to a podcast a gaming session and anything less than what I'm probably going to sit down for is annoying. Longer the better, epic four hour shows are fine I can stop listening and pick up later. That's why Jesus invented the pause button.

Respawn Entertainment you say? I wonder what kind of games they will make, I'm betting puzzle based RPGs. Those are a real hit with kids these days right?

TC sorry but it is the "fans" like you that are holding Final Fantasy back. SE will never break from the tired ass JRPG formula if you give them shit for taking a chance on some new ideas. The sphere grid was a stupid over complex mess, the crystarium is a nice neat way to hide the traditional character level. As for it capping you off at certain points? You are NOT supposed to spend 5 hours in the same area grinding yourself till you are overleveled, thats a boring tedius JRPG convention that needs to stop and it completely unbalances the game. Not getting the ultimate weapons till after the final boss is because you have things to do after the final boss unlike any other game where it just ends. Some side quests require you to have beaten the game to be strong enough to finish. I would think content that keeps you playing after you beat it is considered great replay value.

There hasn't been a great FF game in a decade (10 sucked get over it) and there will not be anytime soon if people don't give them a chance. 13 is by no means an amazing game but it is different and not different in unrecognizable as FF different like 12. Final Fantasy has to evolve, it already has the barrier of a Japanese developer who always fears change. Don't complicate it but having them take any sort of risk then say its the worst game ever made. I'd rather see the series elevated back to the forefront of RPGs than to have haters regress this series back to grinding random encounters forever while wandering complicated dungeons then dying because I ran out of potions and phoenix downs.

Loved the campaign it was much more enjoyable than MW2 which was frustrating on several occasions. Just wrapped up the M-COM stations today and now have all the campaign achievements, so close to S rank only 8 more multiplayer ones.

I've been trying to find a match for a half hour now and every game I join has about on average 6 people in it or less. What gives this game is always booming anytime of day and tonight its a dry spell when its the first night in weeks I can play all night and don't have to be at work at 8 in the morning.
