Call of Duty does not in anyway warrant this kind of affair. Sure the first game was pretty awesome and the 4th was something of an industry landmark, but outside of that it's just been a factory made iterative yearly product. Yeah it sells well but so does cheap beer.

At least something like Blizzcon has the backing of 3 revered and always fresh feeling franchises behind it, not to mention a fan based who's majority is probably a lot more in the convention mind set that the average Call of Duty consumer.

This is an all to common trend for PC releases, this is just a new level that we don't commonly see. Most developers can hardly be assed enough 90% of the time to do simple things like disable mouse smoothing and acceleration on the PC versions.

Gary Whitta may actually come to your house and cut you if you buy monster cables. The days of worrying about analogue signal interference are long gone (the only non digital signal left in a modern home theatre is the sub lead).

Well... technically Eve Online is the 'most completely open' game out there. That being said I am partial to The Elder Scrolls III.

Hate to tell you this mate, but not everybody considers them self "under god" and may not care to be labeled so.

I'm not a U.S. citizen so I guess my opinion is kind of mute, however it seems to me that a pledge (which is kinda absurdly nationalistic in itself) should be representative of the people as a whole, not everybody follows the same idealism.

Weird this... I seem to remember, back in the Pleistocene age of Half-Life 2, much whining JUST LIKE THIS about some other little thing that was being FORCED on us by some EVIL toads at Valve... What was that thing again?

To be fair, at the time of Steam's launch the internet was no where near in the same state as what it is now. The majority of the population was still sitting on dial up so the idea of having to use something like Steam genuinely seemed like a bad idea. The platform really didn't take off until a few years after launch once the always connected broadband market started to expand heavily.

Yet another example of how the business of games is ruining the business of games. Seriously, somebody needs to start performing some serious "Suitectomy's" at these publishers. These fuckers are going to drive games into the ground with this whole hyper commercial aspect they've been building up over the past decade.

You would think people would give up pissing on consoles from upon their superior PC perch for a second.

Meanwhile, all PC gamers have been called 'scum' and pirates and elitists for the last few years and that's been OK? Fuck that noise.

Yep. Also don't get how PC gamers are on a perch here. The PC version IS the superior one for this game, there's absolutely no debate about it. They've openly said this is their goal. It is a fact it will have a higher player count, and it's obviously a fact that it will have better graphics and options. Doesn't make you a PC fanboy to acknowledge this.

Word.
