Pre ordered it today. Very excited. Absolutely adored the last game (enjoyed it vastly more than Uncharted 4 for example) and I have very high hopes for this one.

Not sure what it is precisely, but something about the formula of this series has just really appealed to me very strongly, they're just really damn fun to play and I thoroughly enjoyed 100% both the previous entries. I guess its mostly the level design and traversal but the combat as well, just love it so much more than Uncharted. Everything I wanted Uncharted to be and do is basically in these games which i guess is ironic since the first clearly took notes from U1 and the second notes from 2 and 3. U3 I was similarly let down by so I feel like this series specifically exists to address my frustrations with Naughtydogs games haha.

I can still thoroughly enjoy any story staring any cast of characters regardless of any age, setting, whatever. I don't need to relate to them to find the story compelling or empathize with their struggles. Frankly I don't really get how people get so disconnected to it or why they feel they can only enjoy a story if the characters are so similar to them. Just because you're much older and living in much different circumstance doesn't mean fictional characters in a fictional story can't be entertaining or interesting regardless. I can still put my mindset in to that of where it was when I was a child and understand how and why a child would act/react to situations differently to how a teenager, young adult or older adult would. Everyone goes through these phases and its not like its hard to remember how you thought and behaved during those phases. My memories of those times are very strong and so I can still enjoy stories staring such kinds of people no matter how old I get.

Their are a lot of fantastic movies and series' I wouldn't enjoy if the main cast weren't in their 30s like I am now if I were like that. But I've always been able to very easily separate my association to real life and how I engage with media and what is present in that media. Video games being no exception.

In fact more and more I find myself getting increasingly tired of the late 20s to mid 30s white guy protagonist (who i technically relate to more than any other) still staring in a lot of games. I would gladly like to see more titles star people of all ages, genders and in more fantastical sense, a greater variety of species. Its quite frustrating we have so many sci fi and fantasy titles and yet in the vast majority we are still in the role of a human and that's growing more boring for me over time.

I built my first gundam the other day (on the left), though as a life long hobbyist/collector I've built many other types of kits at various points in my life (was making warhammer armies at 10-13, armored cores at 16-18 etc), was still nice to see what all the fuss was about with these things finally as despite being a mecha/mech nut for whatever reason I never really got in to gundam but I fell absolutely in love with the design of Barbatos and had to have one. And heck even the anime is decent so now I'm going back to see what other gundam shows/mechs might grab me. Nothing else has quite just yet but I might grab a few different kits anyway. I'm not fussed about scale with my collecting so I'll likely end up with both the cheap n small and big and pricey.

Best news in ages. So hyped for this.

Yep I recall many great quest side stories with vanilla wow and even BC and then wotlk had some utterly fantastic stuff. After that it seems like they're either going for weird nonsense or nostalgia horse beating and kinda failing at both types again and again. Granted wow stopped being "fun" for me outside of solo content a long long while ago, like 2008 a while ago. I took like a 4-5 year break at one point and after that its been month long sessions per couple years tops.

I feel like the entire user base over the course of the games lifespan has gotten worse and worse too. Where once I felt the average player was a 20-40 something year old I now think its more like 12-18 year olds exclusively and they are ALLL BAD.

I stopped after DNF. So Colonial Marines being what it was never surprised me though I was shocked at just how much of a giant flaming bag of lies it really was.

Its weird I had a tonne of fun with Borderlands and Borderlands 2 but they certainly over-sold and over hyped them too. I think that's just Gearbox's thing is they try to get away with as much bs as possible and like Jim so wonderfully stated now that we live in a post steam refunds world I wonder just how much they'll think they can get away with in the future. As more and more games continue to disappoint or have misleading marketing people are becoming more jaded and cynical and assuming the worst. So if devs n publishers want to keep making money I would hope a little more transparency and smarter use of time and budget would be put in place.

Honestly I think it looks really really bad.

- All of the main characters look boring and lack personality or seemingly any aspect of what defines them as the characters they are suppose to be
- As a Killer croc fan I HATE his design so much, it reminds me of the Lizard from Spider Man, awful awful awful
- The events of the movie itself look boring and cliche and are likely to be super predictable
- Harley is still excessively sexualized to a near-porn-parody level to the point I think actual porn probably respects her character more now
- Joker looks and sounds even more awful than I expected

I could not possibly have lower expectations for this movie, and that Superman Batman trailer was real shit looking too. DC just keep fucking up and both of these are likely to turn out just as laughably bad as Man of Steel did. And I'm a huge DC fan, have been since Batman Animated. So I'm really depressed about how shit these movies are / seem they will be. Oh well least Marvel will always be around to cheer me up. Their movies actually slowly turned me in to a bigger fan of their stuff because they unlike DC understand how to do film adaptation right.

Nope nope nope times a million. What Rocksteady needs to do is make a game that is tied to a property (unless they actually bother to do something original) that allows them to go full on with the violence. If Shadow of Mordor taught me anything Batman combat + much more violence = something we desperately need more of.

I don't care what it is, what the setting is, so long as it has murder and lots of it. But ideally I think I would love to see them do something set in the Warhammer 40k universe. What I would give for a spiritual successor to Space Marine.

No X titles, no cleaned up versions of Legends and Legends 2?

This is a giant insult to the legacy of the franchise capcom. You've literally left out the best games. Fuck this shit.
