Zombies and post-apocalyptica are fine if used effectively. I am very bored of unnecessary zombie moments, though. If they're not our real antagonist, we don't need them. They don't really add anything to the experience other than longevity.
Pre-order bonuses suck, as do retailer-exclusive bonuses. Inventory management is pretty annoying, especially when it's as limiting as it is in Fallout 3. It's not realistic, and it's at the point where it's also annoying. XP
I say we need to say goodbye to "do this 1000 times" achievements, and also the "find all 100 little random items" achievements. If they did anything for you before the end of the game, it'd be another story, but Petruccio's Feathers and the treasure you find in Uncharted 2 are both completely worthless throughout most of the game.
Next year, I see an over-abundance in third-person action titles; in the first quarter alone, we see Bayonetta, No More Heroes, Dante's Inferno, and God of War III. And I'm sure there'll be more by the end of the year, right?
@ryanwho: If they actually limit the amount of time you can play, there'll be an EXTREME backlash, unless the limit approaches the "100 hours per week" point where they're doing it to prevent the kind of ridiculous addiction that happens with World of Warcraft.
As for locking out content for those who are "under health capacity", I hope for two things. 1) They specifically mean obesity. What if someone has a disease, and their refuge is playing video games? Surely it won't reflect that a cancer patient is dying and therefore refuse to let them play, right? 2) It is the individual game developer's choice to include those features or not. Subsequently, I expect those developers to be blacklisted pretty quickly if the limits affect anyone under 300 pounds, playing a still-reasonable 20 hours per week or anyone who is genuinely sick.
Everyone with the "stop complaining": this is probably the most valuable game to discuss since the release of Fallout 3. Even Assassin's Creed II tells you what to think a little too much for it to merit more discussion than MW2. And honestly, negative opinions should be voiced; if they're widespread enough, the pleas of the discontented will be heard. Don't believe me? Go back and play Assassin's Creed 1 again; isn't the general consensus that with ACII, they "fixed Assassin's Creed?" That wouldn't have happened if Ubisoft had only seen the reviews of the game posted by gaming critics.
As for MW2, I haven't had such a big problem with the Commando thing, but I honestly haven't played online in almost a month. Akimbo shotguns and the ridiculous killstreaks pulled me out of the experience enough that I just didn't really want to play MW2 anymore after the first couple of tries, and so I've been focusing more on ACII when I want to play one of my new games. If I could play online right now, though (my friend is using the wireless adapter I need), I'd still be playing L4D2 instead.
