Why does it seem not many tps are taking after gears. Gears needs a competitor. The controls feel simple and it's the only game with wall bouncing. Why aren't more tps like this?

Is the multiplayer in Uncharted 2 and 3 popular? Was it ever popular? I know uncharted 3 does have a player count like Uncharted 2 did, but even before Uncharted 3 came out, was uncharted 2 multiplayer player count high?
Hey so the arma series can be played in both first and third person perspectives, correct? Also how have arma 1 and 2 been in terms of multiplayer? Is it competitive, map sizes? Also is it constant fighting or you do not see many people. Is Arma 3 like that, not sure if you guys have played the beta of it or something. Do you guys think the first person shooters overcome third person shooters and eventually tps will become extinct? Also why aren't many third person shooters on pc or even have a popular multiplayer, gears and uncharted being pretty much the only exception.
This game has so much hype.. I dot even think it will do well. It will do as well as borderlands probably. Game developers think this games gonna take over.. What do u think
So I'm thinking of getting a couple games, gta iv and red dead redemption except I only want them for the multiplayer I won't touch the single player.. So is it worth it. I know gsmes like halo, cod, and gears of war could be bought only for multiplayer meaning the multiplayer is good enough. Is that the case for the above games. Thanks for the advice!
