Yep a Doujin Danmaku game full of little loli's shooting lasers is no.1; but it's because this game introduced several fan favourites (including one who became a main character later on) as well as some of the best songs in the Touhou series.

I played the originals loved them (even though I sucked at them) I've sunk more hours than I can bear thinking about, it maintains it's sense of black humour.
-
I waited 1 year from it's US release to get mny hands on this game replete with special EU fan art cover, sumptious visuals joined with great music and a few memes in waiting "HANDS OFF THE PANDA!".
-
I loved the graphic novels they are one of my most treasured possessions and brought the utter Sex Bob-omb that is Stephen Stills into my life; so here's the game with great sprite work, Anamaguchi working the 8-Bit grooves and credile gameplay for a tie-in!
-
Woah, this game rivals if not beats Fallout 3 for most hours played this game had classic written all over it, though to be honest I wasn't even excited about it before release only a hands on made me fall in love with it!
-
Out of all the FF games I played I had to make a toss up between this and FF:TA, FFIV pips it because it's just better at what it does; characters are well developed, the stories of the main group runs a gamut of angst, loss, revenge, sorrow and joy.
I especially have to point out the Opera House scene!

I love Koei's warriors games, but Samurai Warriors trumps the Dynasty series by characterisation, asymetry and little details; like Okuni's Parasol gliding and Goemon's Cannon.
It also boasted more structured levels that elevated it from DW's rampages.

The deffinitive GG, garish artwork and effects, a cast of lovable rogues/vampires/monsterous killing machines theme music that rocked it's on sense of style that carried over to ArcSys' BlazBlue.
-
The most recent game of the series I've played and I enjoyed thoroughly, I'm a prolific Pokemon Breeder (to the point one friend teased I was basically Gay Brock)and an ever expanding world; I seriously wonder if some kind of Occult magic is used to cram everything onto those cartridges?!

This game holds the title for most hours of my life I will never get back 2,744 hours of gameplay I started playing on a 56K dial up! It was fun and social I had a group of friends to play with and I kept going when they all stopped; I gotta say GW has changed almost tectonically from release.
