Guilty Gear XX Λ Core (pronounced Guilty Gear XX Accent Core) is a 2D fighting game developed and released by Arc System Works for Japanese arcades on December 20, 2006. Later published worldwide in North America by Aksys (Arc System Works in Japan, and 505 in Europe) for the PlayStation 2 (on September 11, 2007) and Wii (on October 15, 2007), the game is the fourth iteration of Guilty Gear XX (after Guilty Gear XX Slash). It was later succeeded by Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus.

In addition to balance changes, the game includes new special moves for most characters, a re-designed interface, and new gameplay mechanics (such as "Force Break", a special move that consumes a quarter of the Tension bar when used, and "Slashback", a form of parrying with reduced block stun).
