BLLSL 3: The Recap Comic

Hey all! The BLLSL is over for another year, so I (or rather, my gold membership sponsor ) wanted to summarize what we all saw and felt throughout that eventful eight hour period. While the core stream and Dave's premium stream were informative enough, it was really Rorie's Super Premium stream (for paid members with over 10k wiki points and 500 posts) that captured the heart and soul of the proceedings, with his genial commentary style and his almost miraculous ability to stay out of sight of every camera feed. Truly a Garrett level of invisibility.

Because the Super Premium stream isn't archived, and never will be, I took the liberty of taking various screengrabs, ran them through this fancy "shoddy stickmen comic" filter I downloaded for Win7 MS Paint and compiled them into a handy collage for all the fine folk who were unable to see it live. You guys deserve it. (You also have the privilege of not asking how a screengrab might record dialogue and convert it into speech bubbles. So don't?)

My sincerest apologies to Matthew Rorie. Hell, to everyone.

Also, it's probably a good thing that no-one's using my names for all these new features. Probably.

I'm looking forward to Big Live Live Show Live 4 already.

Man. I wish Rorie had shown up. I felt like the BLLSL this year was less unhinged and more coherent than it was in previous years and the lack of Tested/Screened played a part in that. Did I get more information? Yes. Was the segment quality more consistent? Yes. But there was no drunken singing, no watching terrible movies and no "As seen on TV" madness.

Either way, I'm disappointed you didn't draw something about that segment with Sara and Comic Book Artist Man, where (for once) the general discomfort didn't come from the lack of showmanship on part of the Comic Vine staff.

Yeah, it was a little tame this year. Which I'm sure is less stressful for everybody organizing it, but I kind of liked it when it seemed like every single segment cut was barely matching up with the next segment. The Breaking Brad finish was the strongest finish a BLLSL has ever had, but everything before that felt a little too well organized.

No musical guests was also a big bummer. Also, did they actually talk about subscriber stuff much? I feel like I watched a lot of both streams and while they talked about the site redesign a little bit, it seemed like the show wasn't focused on justifying premium memberships at all, aside from the part where Patrick is clearly going to get his own premium feature soon where he plays horror/Jurassic Park games.

I'm guessing even he didn't bother showing up for the comic drawing portion?
