Listen, if any female was genuinely offended by any of these threads, then she has absoloutley nothing of worth going on in her life to get upset about otherwise. Seriously! I admit I've bitched a bit about the girl-centric threads, mostly because they're silly and I'm embarrassed for those who start them. But that doesn't mean I'm at all offended by tits or porn or guys asking dumb questions. It's a forum.... on a gaming site.... who gives a f*? Honestly. I'm here for the game talk, not to argue about stuff like this. Step outside the door away from your computer for a while, go out into the world and it is there you will find real conflict. They are malicious and harmful, and sexism is against the terms of service. Maybe you haven't been following the threads that much lately, check out "why does Giantbomb have no female reviewers", "What are women thinking?", the titty threads on Alpha Protocol and Red Dead Redemption, "do women watch porn",  "how do you prefer woman", or the one mocking a girl for writing a poem. There's a flood of this crap lately, and until it gets moderated, it's valid complaint. The point of my quote about it being a website focused primarily on video games is that it's obviously going to be terrible for relationship advice anyway, and all these threads do is incite garbage posting exploiting the moral grey area of gender relations from a largely male demographic. I haven't gone out of my way to post in every one of those threads what I thought, but they should not exist. I don't mind them. They remind me of my adolescence.  Besides, you can watch a stand-up comedian complain about how they don't understand the opposite sex, or you can read the same gags here.  There's no difference in my mind.  It's all harmless fun as long as it doesn't get too offensive.  Too often, gamers try and be all "white knight" about it but that doesn't solve anything either.  Complain about women, then complain about people complaining then a complaint about the complainers complaining...wow, what a bunch of whiners.  I count myself among all these, of course.  
 
Sometimes, people aren't looking for advice but just feel a need to vent.  To feel they aren't alone in their uncertainty and to connect with similar individuals.  I don't think there is anything pathetic about it since it's part of the human condition.

It's really not that much of a problem here.  If someone is foolhardy enough to throw the task of non-bias advice out to a bunch of strangers and actually act upon said advice then more power to them.  However, this newfangled display of naivity falls under Off-Topic.  Get over it, girlfriend!
