May I further confuse the issue and say that if you are looking for multimedia you should consider an ipod touch. I own all three and honestly my DS is gathering dust these days and the PSP sees most of my gaming time. Thats more due to me being somewhat of a graphics whore though. DS is great for shear number and variety of titles. PSP looks great and has enough good titles in the catalog to keep you busy for quite awhile. The touch wins for multimedia but as a gaming device won't provide you with more than quick little diversions. You sound like you are leaning towards the DS as it is, ask yourself if you are considering the PSP more because the GO is new and has people talking at the moment. Gadget lust is an understandable but expensive vice.

I don't have a wireless router so it is much easier for me to just connect to the PS3 via USB than to go somewhere with wi-fi just to get a demo.
 
Also, to answer my own question in case anybody was curious, yes this is completely possible.

What is and isn't art is all in the eye of the beholder. So while discussions like this are interesting they ultimately go nowhere.

 Is it possible through the remote play function to DL a PSP demo on to your PS3 and play it on PSP? Also, now that the full PSP games and Minis are on the PSN store is it possible to DL them to the PS3 and transfer them to my PSP memory stick? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

They are decent, if somewhat dated, standard JRPG's. Did your set come with all the bonus materials, leather book, figurines, etc? If not don't expect it to be worth the full price you are seeing online.
