and what might honestly be the hardest part of all this for me, put into quote form because it's a forum post elsewhere

fuck.....

my little brother and I have listened to bombcasts together for well over a year now. he has anxiety and a learning disability and just a really hard time dealing with life sometimes but he loves the bombcast and giantbomb. it's the only game site he's ever looked at ('cause I RAISE KIDS RIGHT, YO)

ryan was one of his straight up favorite guys and he talked about wanting to meet him at E3 one day and wanting to cover games and DO that because of the stuff ryan would put out on the website and how funny he seemed and how himself he always was

he's at scout camp until sunday and was having a hard time so he called me tonight and we were talking and he said "hey is there a new bombcast? i wanna listen when i come home with you, i miss you"

i don't know how to tell a 12 year old ryan davis is gone.

I love the people here who are saying these pieces are ruining giant bomb for them and they don't want to read the site anymore or subscribe. Because we've apparently reached a point where people have become incapable of fucking scrolling past something that doesn't interest them without opening it. Get your fucking heads on straight Jesus

I translated the Tome artifact and it comes out as this

Two very interesting things to note are that the 7th and 8th Haikus correspond directly to the solutions for the Security Question and the Observatory Telescope, respectively

My friend and I are avoiding the solution and trying to find some in-game explanation for what's going on

so far two things come to mind

one is that once you're in a new game+, you can tap up three times and then hold jump to make Gomez fly

the second is that between the black monolith, stargates, and all the cave paintings in rooms around the map (mostly observatory) featuring aliens helping the natives mature this game has too many parallels to 2001: A Space Odyssey and the sequel books.

It was just the T blocks needing to be swapped. Thanks guys! Kind of a silly...bug? But glad it got sorted nonetheless

getting to play without guides has been tons of fun so hopefully that's the last thing that stumps me!

So my friend and I solved the security question puzzle yesterday and he put the solution into his game while I was away, got the red cube, everything is kosher

But today when I try to do it I can't get the red cube to come up.

It IS being solved correctly (spelling vertically right to left, equal spacing between the walls and blocks on all sides), but no matter how I rotate the room or anything like that the red cube will not come and I don't get the "puzzle solved" noise.

I've watched videos online and I'm doing everything identical so I'm confused as the what this problem could be, but maybe it's happened to someone else? The only thing I can think of is that if you go into 3D view on the blocks at the start they're in a perfect diagonal line...maybe they need to be like that? but all the videos I've seen of people doing it don't account for that so I think that might be overthinking the issue
