So Activision just saved me 60 bucks.

( How do i post a blog to a specific forum?)

Im not buying MW2 for PC, and if I do it will be several months after release when its cheaper. They cut dedicated server support and mods from the game so they could make it like a console game. Jeff is right it is a console port, but so was 4, and most could argue so was WAW and 2, but they both had server browsers. And yea, it still has that great multiplayer but half my time in call of duty games has been spent on mod servers.

They have no reason to cut support like that, they are lazy, does anyone feel like their experience playing call of duty on a console has been hurt by PC players getting some special stuff? Because thats their excuse for making all versions equal. Robert Bowling better fucking explain himself... I hoped IW was better than this. I never thought consoles would make PC games worse, but they have.

Developers feel the need to set the bar as low as possible and make it like a console game, when they could actually improve it and make a better game overall. But who am I kidding, developers aren't about making GOOD games anymore.

And yea, sorry if this doesnt make any sense, im just pissed.

As a 360 gamer I don't really care, but for PC gamers that really sucks. I never felt like I was missing anything on the PC because I enjoyed the clan matches so much on the console, so that whole 'equality' thing doesn't seem necessary to me.

It will also allow Activision to kill MW2 support whenever they see fit and force gamers to go to the next CoD game.  Pirate servers will still exist, players have been running private MMO shards as long as the genre's been alive.  But they can make it enough of a pain in the ass for your average PC gamer that they'll just buy into the XBL/PSN model.

@natetodamax: The rant as far as I'm aware of is the therefore lack of a dedicated server for MW2 on the PC.

Then again I just skimmed over the topic so...

Yeah, at some point immediately following the Blizzard buyout Activision turned overtly evil.  What this is probably about is crippling the mod community so they can sell DLC.  Either that or a dedicated attempt at killing the PC market for CoD so they can justify not making PC games at all.

Also, I would suggest against posting the blog to the forums, as this topic already has a thread that has a LOT of commenting done on it.  However, I personally think this is constructed in a much different way.

Im just angry their making the multiplayer WORSE this time on pc, they don't have to make it better, just let us have a server broswer like in 4.

Because now it's a cash cow & they don't have to care about making sure everybody is happy with the game to make money. "
Its going to go the Guitar Hero Route, they'll milk it for all its worth and quality will go down, but this time it will be for everyone.

Ok my bad, ive only posted one other blog and that was months ago haha

With dedicated servers, you could choose from a list of servers and choose the one that had the least lag, the best mod, or whatever gameplay settings you wanted. Without dedicated servers you cannot do any of that, basically Activision and IW get to say what you can and cannot do with a game. Yes it will make it easier to play with your friends, but thats about it.
