I don't go to Destructoid or see every review he writes, but from the ones I have seen, to me he seems like a contrarian troll of a reviewer that gives games scores that they don't deserve to try and create outrage and get cheap views. I don't care how he justifies his reviews, if they are well written or has some amount of well thought out criticism, the scores he gives (Face it, most people just look at the number and not read the review) are pure attention grabs for the idiots that care about metacritic scores, and that whole get-a-rise-out-of-people angle is just despicable. So there I don't like him because he is a bad journalist and a bad reviewer, period.
Also, your 10 point scale is bullshit. No matter how much you want to think it, 5 is not average, because no reviewers treat the scale that way. Almost every site that uses a 10 point scale goes like this: 10-8 varying degrees of awesome to great to good 7-6 average to below average 5-1 bad to absolute shit They all treat it like scores are grades.
So he just gave The Witcher II a D, when everyone else is giving it A's. It just looks like a cry for attention to me, and he has done shit like this far too many times. I just hope this idiot doesn't sway people's purchasing decisions and opinions on games based on his bullshit reviews, but I know he does so fuck him.
Again Capcom handing its huge titles to questionable western developers. Do they really think this will work? First Devil May Cry to Ninja Theory, and now this... Slant Six couldn't even make a game you could actually play at launch and when it worked, you didn't really want to play it anyway.
I just hope these don't turn out to be terrible... Actually I guess I do hope these will be terrible so they will stop doing this and put these franchises back in the hands of the people who created them, and made them awesome.
But I guess all of those people worked at Clover, and now Platinum Games or are doing weird team ups with other high profile Japanese devs. Oh well!
