@yummylee: you can't really call a game like resident evil "extra baggage". That game along with early 90s games like street fighter really helped build them up. They just need a reboot tomb raider did it right... At least this time

The OP is right. It's like paying for a brand name. Like buying Jordan's over a knock off brand because of the name. Anyway Look at CoD it comes out every year doing the same thing and always gets high scores. Then you get a game like tomb raider who does an amazing reboot and it gets a "it was good review" and not a "omfg diz iz da bezt game CoD 4 lyfe" score.... Mk,RE and various fighting games fall in the same boat now. RE is still having trouble with what it wants to be and it can't get it right yet.

Honestly I cannot like 6 as much as I want too. The survival horror element is pretty much gone now and it's in route for full on action. I call it "gears of evil" now. All that rolling diving and slide shooting stuff is very action like and not horror like. I do like playing onslaught tho... Alot

The golden age has passed. We are in some kind of " future age or "modern age". Their are so many games out right it is impossible to be bored. Mobile games on tablets have really started to changed. Just look at "republique" for iOS.
