Games that I have completed

This is MY list of games that I have beaten - in cases with branching storylines or stuff like that, this is if I completed the main storyline, mind you - not that I necessarily got 100%

  • Beat it on PS2. I've always enjoyed Splinter Cell... to an extend. The good-evil choices in this game made for an interesting gameplay mechanic, which, sadly, felt underused, because it was way too easy to just max both trust meters. The ending was a bit confusing as well, but the story overall was interesting enough. I've played the PC version as well, but I found it to be too buggy and hard to control.

  • Beat it on PC. A very good Splinter Cell game. The mechanics are all in place, and the controls are razor-sharp. It's even possible to get through entire levels without being detected AT ALL, which is a pretty cool feeling.

  • Beat it on PS3. Borrowed it from my local library. I figured that I was finally old enough to not be scared by the wolves and bears that scared me away from the first Tomb Raider game. The story here walks the thin line between interesting mythology and a ridiculous action story. The gameplay feels exactly like Uncharted, except on a scaled-down level, and the shooting is tamer. Also, Lara is intensely hypersexualized, and sometimes I'd just spend my time looking at her instead of playing. Hey fuck you, it's my time!

  • Beat it on PC. Bought this at my local computer cafe, but was too scared to play it for many years because of the (I felt) haunting music/sound effects. Then I manned up and got through it. Multiple endings = nice touch.

  • Beat it on PC. This sequel lets you play as an apprentice of Kyle Katarn. The third person was very cool, and force power worked good as well. And sword fighting actually required skill, and not just luck. Good game all in all

  • Beat it on PS3 (PSN). Can you 'complete' flower? I'm not sure, but I got to the ending credits, so I guess that means I brought light into the darkness, right? Either way, it was a pleasurable experience, although it was a tad too slow for my liking. If I wanted to fall asleep, I wouldn't be using my PS3 now, would I?

  • Beat it on PC. You know this. Right? Duke was badass, and the game was cool although completely over-the-top. Last boss was also the easiest - keep strafin', guys!

  • Beat it on PC. I remember always getting stuck in this one, and suddenly one day something must've happened and I rushed through the entire game. It was pretty badass, and very chaotic at times.

  • Beat it on PC. Thought I'd check this out because it looked like Diablo. Brad was right - this really is drilled-down-to-the-basics dungeon loot grind. Think a Warcraft III-looking Diablo with 85% focus on grinding for good loot, and 15% focus on actual questing. Could use an expansion of the universe, though. It looks promising.

  • Beat it on N64. Got pretty much every medal there was to win. So yep, I completed it. Good game.

  • Beat it on N64. Completed the game and got to the moon and all that. I got bored long before that, though. This game REALLY needs some more variety. The whole 'smash-grab-eat' tactics get boring when you've applied it to 5 or 10 identical cities.

  • Beat it on N64. I would make a comment about barrels and rolls, but this game deserves better than stupid jokes. It had an excellent story, good graphics, interstellar voice work that proved N64-characters capable of having voices, and, most importantly, a fantastic, engaging gameplay with smooth controls, branching storylines and much, much more.

  • Beat it on GB. Launch game I got with my Game Boy. I finally beat it after a loooooooooong time. Mario was too goddamn small on that big screen! Oh, and the first time I witnessed the Princess transforming into a giant fly I nearly shat myself.

  • Beat it on PS3 (PSN). To me, this is the best of PixelJunk. The controls handle

    *fantastic*, the music is interesting without getting intrusive and the liquid mechanics are something that every game ought to use! Only problem with it is that it is extremely short, consisting only of three worlds (and that it came on sale a week after I bought it! ARGH!)

  • Beat it on PS3 (PSN). What at first struck me as "just another RPG story" turned out to be a real oddball. The puzzles, and the way you have to use all of your three characters, are interesting, and the graphics are simply breathtaking. The music, however beautiful, tend to get a little over-the-top at times, and the story, as well as the gameplay, ends up being repetitive as all hell. "Then they went into a cave and beat skeletons and summoned boxes - and then they went into a mystical forest and did the whole thing all over again". The only really interesting bits of story are, ironically, the prologue and the epilogue. Co-op is a bundle of fun, though.

  • Beat it on PC. Ew. When I got this game I was WAY too young to be playing it. Ruthless business aliens deciding to recycle their workers as food? I couldn't sleep for weeks! The universe looks like something thought of by Salvador Dali on shrooms, and so does all the creatures inhabiting it. The story is pretty interesting, though. And the puzzles are not impossible to solve - just frustrating sometimes.

  • Beat it on PS3 (PSN). After hearing Jeff praise this game, I knew I had to get it. Turns out it is okay, but apparently Breakout just isn't my style of game. It's nice that you can compare your scores to your friends' - nothing like a bit of dick measuring to get you back into breaking those blocks, eh? The soundtrack is decent, but certainly not OSTOTY material. And yes, I completed the whole game in one sitting without using continues, so that I could get that goddamn trophy!

  • Beat it on PS3 (PSN). First thing that struck me about this game was the music - that sweet, electronic goodness. The gameplay was pretty good too, though it's obvious that it's 'just' a reimagination of something from the eighties. The story is interesting, but is not explained in an orderly fashion, which is a shame.

  • Beat it on SNES. Goddammit this game could be hard. And very scary in some places. But all in all it was very cool, even if it stole pretty much every concept from Mario.

  • Beat it on SNES. I remember this as being a pretty standard platformer with a wacky setting and the ability to run up walls. Also, easy mode cut out all the good stuff and funny minigames. Oh, and the football level? That was just cruel, but still amazing fun that could easily be released as a stand-alone game.
