You know the saying "tough but fair?" This is not that. It's not that hard, but every death feels unearned. I'm constantly fighting the camera, or hung up on geometry, and the button presses register inconsistently.
I find the other drivers infuriating. For most of the corners, they go into them two or three abreast, so I can't pass them, or they cut in front of me into the apex and slam on their brakes because they were going way too fast. They just randomly ram me every so often. Every race feels like all I'm doing is trying to figure out the one turn where passing is possible, and then hoping I get to the front before I get hit. I can make up a ton of places in those one or two turns, but then if I'm less than perfect after that, I get rammed off the road and drop to the back of the pack. I'm seeing this on all of the AI levels above "average" (but I don't want to play average because it's too easy). I didn't have this problem with Forza Horizon 1 (which I just played recently almost all the way through). Since other people love this game, I assume I'm doing something wrong. Any suggestions?
I'm liking it. It feels a little slow compared to Doom, but the grappling hook is great. At first I found the movement and rate of Titan-fall sort of frustrating, but by the time I hit level 10 it all felt good. People complain about campers, but it's so easy to get behind them or flank them. I remember the first being better than this felt, but I suspect a lot of that was variety of maps, guns, and mechs.
I play the 4v4 multiplayer every day, and like other people have said never have trouble finding matches. It took me a bit to get into it, though, and I can see why some people wouldn't stick with it. A few of the 4v4 maps feel like slight variants of each other and it took a bit before I figured them out. But, like some have commented above, I think the guns are as good or better than previous Halos, and I like the new movement stuff. I played a lot of 2 and 3 online, and I like this at least as much and maybe more.
