It's dead to them. Not to me and many others. It's like trying to get your dad to listen to something from the last 5 years. He's not going to like it. He'd much rather just pop in Supertramp and leave it at that. That's fine with me. Music for him just isn't what he wants.

I'm guessing he doesn't really care anymore. "Some young kids want to perform with me? OK." Honestly these old guys don't give a damn about street cred once they've achieved everything they wanted.
I will miss all the podcast and video shows. That was my main interest at 1UP. A very sad start to 2009 indeed. It's like a massive divorce when you least expect it. On the other hand I am interested how they will start up again. Only a few important people stayed so the direction taken does peak my interest. As for a number of those that will not be at 1UP anymore I will watch to see where I end up. Especially Shane Bettenhaussen and Nick Suttner.
It's nice to know what songs Axl influenced most on the Use Your Illusion albums. this is merely picking up from where he (not the band. I consider this a solo album) left off. Overall it's pretty good with a few bad songs. There are times where I have to laugh at his singing. People here complain that it's overproduced but that isn't a fair claim since UYI was the same in that department. At the end of the day I'm happy to hear Axl's work.
