Earlier, I posted a thing about having ordered Demon's Souls. This thing took its sweet time, arriving in my mailbox a full month after I ordered it. But now, lo and behold, I have in my hands a shiny US copy of the game, which is kind of neat for a European dude, and I've already sunk about three hours into it. Making little progress, as expected, and amazingly, not being frustrated by that fact. Great stuff!!!
Will post about my travails with the game in more detail at a later time. Now, it's time for some shut eye. Take care!

You know, dude, you might think my idea of retro is way off, and of course you're entitled to your opinion. But if playing games made in the mid eighties (Metroid, Dr. Mario) on a discontinued system doesn't at least  partly qualify for retro gaming status,  I guess I'm just not hardcore enough. Or old enough, that might be it.  I know these are not the original games on the original system, but it's kinda rough trying to lug a NES around in my pocket.  Just saying that my point was the old games, not the not so old system.

The fact that it's a cool thing to have, though, THAT I agree with! And if you have a Vectrex, more power to ya!

Good evening/day/whatever time it is to you!

Yeeeeah! How about this?
Got myself a boxfresh GBA micro for next to nothing, and I'm pumped! Gaming old-ass games on a postage stamp sized screen is my definition of fun, or at least A definition of fun. A weird one, I suppose, but be that as it may, I'm going to make my way through the original Metroid the only way I know how!: Totally by the seat of my pants, with no sense of direction, cursing at the screen! And if I eventually finish that, I got Metroid Fusion for about a buck fifty some months back, and that's a good one too.
So, in effect, I have stepped into a time machine, gone back to 2005, just went to the movies to see the chronicles of Narnia, and I've got my  headphones on, rocking out to Hollaback girl....oh god!!!!!! TAKE ME BACK TO THE FUTURE!!!!!

Still waiting for this game. Customer service tells me it'll ship as soon as they get it back in stock. This is quickly turning into a real white whale situation! Anyhoo, I have other stuff to keep me occupied until the Demons come get me.

@addictedtopinescent:  Damn straight! Let's get this winter foolishness out of the way! I'll have to deal with at least three more months of this, which isn't surprising, but still. I'm with you on the summer wish.

I just finished a hours long hunt for Demon's Souls all over town. Went to every store that sells games, and even some that don't, on the off chance that they might have some games among their DVDs.

Now, I'm not really the world's most accomplished gamer, and it strikes me that going out of my way to get that game is kind of like a totally unfit guy entering an Ironman triathlon with his only possible reward being a sound thrashing at the hands of the eventual winner of said race.

I spent half my day fruitlessly sifting through games, fighting the phenomenal cold in the process, only to return home emptyhanded. Proceeded to order it online, and now I'll be watching my mailbox with bated breath.

Updates chronicling my inevitable frustrations with this game are sure to be posted on my blog, and I'm looking forward to it. If you guys have seen Jeff G's video where he plays Megaman 9, I bet I'll be on that kind of frustration level. And even though it sounds like I think I'll only struggle with the game, I'm really looking forward to it, the graphics look great, and I love the music! Dark, oppressive madness! I'd say for the win, but there can be no winning this, I suppose. :D

Fahrenheit is a temperature scale that has something to do with at least one of, if not all of, these factors:

Planes lost in the Bermuda triangle
The quantity and frequency of Sasquatch sightings
Mercury  (Come on, it's freaking metal, but it's runny!!)
The popularity of neon colored lycra pants
And record sales of Taylor Swift albums.

I admit to not understanding any more, or any less, about these things than I do about Fahrenheit.

@SouthernDiscomfort:  Hell, I'd like to try that 42 degrees thing! Sounds interesting. Though a sudden change from -35 to +42 would probably make every structure in town disintegrate.
