Hey, Duders!
Just wanted to give my early impressions after playing for about 6 hours today.
For reference, I'm a 20 y/o, Military, College Student.
Since about the end of 2015, I found myself not being as excited or motivated to be playing games as they came out or games in general. So I was mostly playing competive/social games with friends to fill that void since then. I bought horizon after reading Jeff's review and was surprised at what this game seemingly had to offer.
I can say that this game has "re-ignited" that sense of wonder I lost with games a while ago and has me looking forward to playing when I get back from class tomorrow afternoon.
The game feels really solid and the only thing that I have a gripe with is seemingly long distances between different missions. But this is usually solved by finding some side quest (among other things) to do when on my way there which I have found enjoying so far. The story seems pretty solid with the characters that I have been introduced so far too which is great (and surprising). Have only had 1 problem with lip sync to characters as I know that was a big concern given a few videos that are out there about it.
Playing this on my 4K HDR TV is amazing (original PS4 so not really 4K but still awesome) as I can say this might be the best looking game I have seen to date. Looking forward to finding out what all this mystery is about throughout playing the rest of the game.
Overall a really solid game that got me excited to be playing games again! I would suggest strongly if you own a PS4 and enjoy these types of open world/story driven games (with some pretty rad gameplay).
Cheers!
