My Xbox One/PS4 recommends Sept 2014

Hey all, I've recently procured my Xbox One and PS4 over the summer so i've finally been getting to tackle the games i've been wanting to play. While this isn't all i've been playing (there's been some good indie stuff on PS+ and Games with Gold) these are the ones i'd feel comfortable recommending to anyone who got lost on the site and happened upon my list.

List items

  • I've never been a huge fan of Dead Rising but i've always enjoyed it in short bursts, this one completely grabbed me. It feels so much more accessible than any other DR game i've ever played and it looks beautiful.

  • I'm seriously addicted to BF4 on Xbox One. I played up to about rank 35 on 360, then imported my character to Xbox One, now i'm in the 90's and flying scout choppers like a boss. The endorphin release of destroying a chopper or tank with an RPG remains the reason i love battlefield. The visual upgrade that the new consoles bring that puts the game in line with the visuals my PC pushes are something to behold for anyone who's not experienced the graphical quality of BF3 or BF4 on anything but a last gen console. Also bought the Premium Subscription, get it on sale if you can. $30-40 is fair for the amount of content you get.

  • My first official purchase for my PS4. This will make my 4th official purchase of a version of Diablo 3. Capcom would love me. Not much special about the PS4 version, it's just a lot of dumb fun and i love it.

  • I looked at my Bungie.net stats today, i've put 36 hours into this game. Maybe it's that i like the way Halo games have always played. Maybe it's my love of loot systems. Maybe i'm just stupid but this game grabbed me in a way i can't really explain logically. If you're curious despite some "meh" reviews of it, check it out for yourself. You really don' get a good sense of the game until you get to the Moon, you know because wizards...

  • I have just started playing this in the past couple days. I haven't had this much fun with an open world game since Saints Row 4. Fitting it is that the voice of Delson the main character is voiced by Troy Baker who also voices the Boss character from SR. Long story short, it's beautiful, it's well acted, it's fun, it's an open world game about motherf*cking super powers. I even applaud them for creative use of the Dual Shock 4 in some cases. Check it out.

  • Not officially out yet but i've played through the demo multiple times just eager for it. I loved Forza Horizon on 360, this on Xbox One, feels like that plus more. Comes out tomorrow, can't wait.

  • had to throw this in. I got it as part of the EA Access subscription that i decided to guinea pig for. It's great. If you like peggle, get this. It's amazing to play while you watch a tv show or giant bomb's amazing content... ;)
