I'm trying to figure out what RTS I should buy and try to get good at. I want to play one with a really vibrant online community, however, I don't necessarily want one that will be impossible to get really good at, (ie. starcraft...). So yeah, if any of you would be kind enough to throw some suggestions my way I'd appreciate it :)

I sort of had the same reaction to Mercs 2...and look how that turned out.
So yes, this game looks awesome, but so did Mercs 2. This game will be great, just as long as it's framerate is solid, and it is bug-free

Glad to see Codemned 2 on your list. One of the most unappreciated franchises if you ask me.
