You joke, but the game's mostly done. I think we could fund that shit.
Of course it's more likely that someone else will come along and pick it up to publish, depending on how far along it is. And they better, because that game looked hot.
“Most screenwriters will tell you the hardest part of any movie, any story to tell, is just the end. It’s the thing that changes the most, it's the endings that are the most fought over among collaborators. They’re the things that are just the hardest to land.”
Which is super funny, since that Final Hours app basically says that it was just Casey Hudson and Mac Walters who wrote the ending, and they didn't let anyone else see it before it was too late to change it!
The reason that the artistic integrity shit falls flat isn't because video games aren't art.
It's because artistic integrity doesn't matter so long as the original version still exists. It's why the Blade Runner Final Cut five disc thing is awesome, and any edition of Star Wars released today is garbage.
It's not just because Ridley Scott is making his movie better and George Lucas is making his worse, it's because one of them is acknowledging that other versions exist, and Lucas does not.
You can release and change all the shit you want, based on fan demand or just your own personal bullshit whims, so long as you keep the originals around and don't invalidate those experiences. Hence, optional DLC.
"And it's kind of cool because she is one of those people from the game industry that you recognize. So it's like, Oh, hey, there's that girl I recognize from TV!"
Also it`s like "Oh hey, here is something that takes you completely out of the game."
She will probably have a small role, but still stuff like that just makes me worried about the future of Bioware.
Yeah it wasn't the most encouraging reply. At first he says 'it i'll be great cos you'll recognise that girl from the internet' and then he's like 'well its all about the acting and the story.' - They can't both be true.
I think you guys are reaching here.
I've got my reservations about Mass Effect 3, but this is the sort of thing that the game industry is going to have to get used to sooner or later.
LA Noire had dudes from actual television shows in it. Didn't see anyone talking about it breaking immersion.
And really, who the fuck even knows or cares about Jessica Chobot? She works for IGN. The only thing that ever got her any attention was when she licked that PSP.
@Olivaw: I'm definitely going through the lengths to find one I like. There are a lot of animes that I don't like, but this thread is giving me a great idea of what is out there that I can try out. Guess that I'm looking for something casual. =-P Hopefully it'll help others discover animes that they might like as well, as all this isn't just solely for me.
Basically the best anime are anime that are as un-anime as possible.
No bullshit "comedy", no silly faces with teardrops running down the sides of heads.
Shit that would be awesome regardless of what country it came from, basically.
Like Cromartie High School. That shit is funny no matter where you're from.
