Games that I have S-Ranked

I like Achievements. I like them so much, sometimes I play a game more than I want to to get all of them. Here are those games, and the stories that have never before been told. I also answer the question "would I S-Rank this game again if I lost the points?" Join me on a journey of miserable agony and lack of life!

List items

  • I love Bioshock. I can spend hours in Rapture. Played through it twice, and really did not resent any of it. It's been so long, I could do with a trip back to Rapture.

    Would do it again.

  • I played the hell out of this game as a kid. I know all about Grand Uppers. Only hard part of this was the 800k achievement. Save/load, save/load ad nauseum. But this game has awesome music.

    Would do it again.

  • Do not play this game on the highest difficulty level, if you value your sanity. It is unfair, cheap and frustrating as hell. I should've quit. But I didn't, I just had to keep going. I also ran through the first level a dozen times to unlock power-specific achievements. That was simply tedious.

    Wouldn't do it again.

  • Plug in a few extra controllers and you can have a party all by yourself! And unlock 200 easy points in the process. I have no life.

    Would do it again.

  • This game is pretty mediocre. But it's also easy as hell. And with a guide, you can get all the achievements in one playthrough, which will take you like 4-5 hours. And it's kinda neat as a Lost fan, terrible "soundalike" voice actors notwithstanding.

    Would do it again.

  • This one was kinda fun. It's like a metagame: Play each game in the collection for like 15 minutes per achievement. Only the Columns and Mean Bean Machine ones gave me any trouble at all.

    Would do it again.

  • Dead Space is a good game. So good I played through it twice for all the achievements. It was not hard or frustrating, but maybe that's because I bought DLC that made the game pretty easy. I am a horrible person.

    Would do it again.

  • If I told you how many hours I spent playing this game, you'd probably call me crazy. And you'd be right. It's near the 100 hour mark. And I STILL didn't get my own elite armor set, I borrowed it off a dude for that achievement. Playing this with Matt Bodega again recently made me realize I never want to play this game again, ever. I did like it back then, though.

  • Quickest S-Rank ever. Took like 20 minutes, and I actually sort of enjoyed it. You're a dinosaur, eating Doritos. Sure.

    Would do it again.

  • I am not good at this game at all! Astaroth is your friend: Down-back X, Y. People got pretty mad at me online in ranked games, though I tried not to be too cheap. The game has kinda bad net code. Most boring achievement? Buying all the stuff in the store. Doing the last stage over and over again and getting Algol (?) to ring himself out whilst at the same time posting on forums is responsible for the death of half my brain cells. I have no life.

    Would not do it again.

  • This game introduced me to Street Fighter proper. I took to it like a fish to water. Fear my Fei Long, fools! Winning online with every single character was probably the hardest. Dhalsim is absolutely useless in my hands.

  • Fable 2 is pretty easy. And, if you have a friend with all the achievements, so is getting the only achievements in this game that are at all hard to get. The DLC wasn't too bad, either.

    Would do it again.

  • I played the SHIT out of this game on the PC. So when I got the 360 version off my friend thinking I'd get all the achievements, I quickly burned out at 75 points. A while ago I sat down with this to really do it. The difficulty achievements don't stack. Four playthroughs and many Silent Assassin attempts later, I did it. Even when you know exactly how it's gonna go down, there is still something exciting about murdering your hapless prey. But now I truly am pretty done with this game.

  • Against popular opinion, I think the first Watchmen episode is a solid brawler. It's got painful-looking combat, punchy sound effects and plenty of guys to beat up. There is also some depth to the combat with the many combos, though you can certainly buttonmash through it if you want to. However the many playthroughs required make me not want to do it again.

    Would not do it again.

  • Oh boy. Yeah, the PC version. But wait! I did play most of it! The only achievements I cheated were the "Level X with Y karma" ones and a few others, like the crafting and all the behemoths. I played through the entire game twice though, and did all the DLC as well. So I only feel slightly dirty about this. But it's a great game.

    Would do it again.

  • This is a launch-era game, back from when people didn't "get" the whole achievement thing. Consequently this only has achievements for winning specific career mode fights. Those fights start taking a looong time towards the end. But it wasn't too bad.

    Would do it again.

  • I absolutely adore this game. My GOTY for sure. So of course I felt I had to get all the achievements as well, as a huge Bat-fan. Playing through on Hard was a nice challenge, but never frustrating - just right. I loved getting all the riddles. I enjoyed mastering the challenge rooms, though I probably wouldn't have done it if not for the achievements.

Would do it again... in fact I did! I S-ranked this baby twice, on the 360 and the PC. Am I crazy for considering doing the GOTY version as well?

Note: at the time of writing, I have in fact S-ranked Arkham Asylum 3 times: Once on the Xbox 360, twice on the PC (regular and GOTY editions). Yup, I'm certifiable.

  • Don't know why it took me this long, as it's really easy to S-Rank (pretty much just finish the game). Last few bosses are kind of a pain because they are all in a row with little to no health in between fights, so I had to (ab)use the save feature a lot. Always liked this game and it's still pretty good. I'd S-Rank it again, seeing as it takes about 90 minutes.

  • Insanity wasn't so bad once I got past the first third of the game or so, playing as a Vanguard. All the other achievements I got during my first playthrough, and I can easily see myself playing through this again.

  • The shortness of Case Zero is very well suited to the Dead Rising formula of learning where everything is and starting over. I played through it three times to get everything, and I'd do it again. Killing 1000 zombies pretty much requires a separate playthrough though.

  • Great game, and fairly doable achievements, though I did get lucky with a few of them (the multikill and killing someone while they're upgrading). Sadly I haven't played it much since even though I enjoyed it a lot.

  • Charming and funny game, and a very easy S-Rank to boot, including the DLC. The combat gets a little repetitive but it's pretty easy and the costumes are fun to try out.

  • In CE DX, YOU eat the ghosts! Fun game, but the S-rank is, dare I say it, too easy. Wasn't really motivated to play more after that, sadly, since few of my friends are on the leaderboards.

  • Not a hard game to S-Rank. It's basically 2 playthroughs and you've got it. Great little game, fantastic narration that involves you in the story.

  • You know, I'd say this was one of the hardest S-Ranks to get but it really wasn't. All it required was 2 playthroughs of the game and knowing where to get certain items. I'd already played the game through on PS3 so it didn't take me that long, all told. I love this game though, and I'd probably do it all again!
