Isn't there any misrepresentation law in America? Because if it does, they should be sued. The way this is being pushed under the rug is disturbing, to say the least. They haven't rape someone, but Steam should learn something from the Catholic church and Penn State scandals.

Well, that escalated quickly.

@P_Pigly_Hogswine: You can finish Altered Beast in about 45 minutes, tops.

Altered Beast is the least of my concerns. ;)

I should also add I'm attempting to not only finish these games, but 100% and get all the trophies. See you guys in 2027.

My backlog is enormous. Most are games I've started playing but maybe got half way through before getting distracted. Anyone who wants to suggest an order to these ... you deserve a medal. Dishonored is the current disc in my console.

  • 3D Dot Game Heroes
  • Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (Leonardo DLC)
  • Army Corps of Hell
  • Assassin's Creed Liberation (corrupted save, need to start again)
  • Batman Arkham City (Hard playthrough + Challenges)
  • BioShock (Challenges)
  • BioShock 2
  • Borderlands 2 (DLC)
  • Castlesvania Lords of Shadow (DLC)
  • Dark Souls
  • Dead Space 2
  • Dishonored
  • Everybody's Golf Vita
  • Fallout 3 (DLC)
  • Fallout New Vegas
  • Final Fantasy 13
  • Gran Turismo 5
  • Hitman Absolution
  • Hydrophobia
  • Ico
  • Jak 2
  • Jak 3
  • Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
  • LittleBIGPlanet 2 (DLC)
  • Metal Gear Solid 2 (Normal through Very Hard runs)
  • Metal Gear Solid 3
  • Metal Gear Solid 4
  • Mirror's Edge (Speed runs)
  • Prince of Persia 2008 (DLC)
  • Ratchet & Clank All 4 One
  • Rayman Origins
  • Red Dead Redemption (DLC)
  • Resident Evil Code Veronica X
  • Resident Evil 4
  • Resident Evil 5 (DLC)
  • Shadow of the Colossus
  • Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions
  • Splatterhouse

  • Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow
  • Test Drive Unlimited 2
  • The House of the Dead 3

It's the exception, but I don't like the idea that it should just be ignored or even laughed at whenever it does pop up. That's as bad as all the idiots in this thread essentially telling the afflicted female developers to "man up". Regardless of gender, no one should have to deal with that kind of bullshit, and anything that is unacceptable for one gender to do is also unacceptable for the other.

This. There are several issues being debated simultaneously and it's all a big tangle: sexism, abuse, gender roles, Twitter, ratios of hulking heroes to feeble princesses. In no universe is the content of a video game more important than a person's rights. Human beings should not have to endure disrespect or abuse under any circumstances. Doesn't matter if you're a man, woman, or a bit of both. People deserve respect, victims should be supported, and society as a whole should say this behaviour is not on.

@Terramagi: Wow, that escalated quickly. This is the problem with this topic. You say something like no-one deserves to be treated like shit, then someone literally interprets that as "burn the world".

Maybe these women just need to be assertive and stand up for themselves. And by that I mean in the workplace, not on Twitter like fucking whining teenagers.

Or an even better solution is for the ass-hat to not berate them in the first place. Women or not, people don't deserve to be treated like shit at work, least of all be called "fucking whining teenagers" because they brought it up. It's kinda like saying "maybe she should learn to fight back ... THEN I'd respect her".

I think people are getting sidetracked with the lesser issue of female representation within games. The larger problem seems to be women as human beings in workplaces being treated as lesser humans. Anyone who thinks it's funny or cool or is looking for a high five from their buddies because they refer to a co-worker as a vagina or assume she's there to get the coffees and sandwiches is, frankly, a jerk. I'd love to believe people don't actually talk to their own mothers, wives or girlfriends this way, but unfortunately a great number do.

I ran a studio team for years that was all female other than myself. It was simply coincidence: they were all the best candidate for the jobs. A senior male manager once asked me "How do you get any work done with all these legs around?" and I just replied "Because the legs support some pretty big brains and the brains work a lot harder for your bottom line than the legs. By the way, how's your daughter?"

IGN. It's the video game equivalent of a Pepsi Max commercial.

@Bourbon_Warrior: You just reminded me. Communion, the alien abuction movie with Christopher Walken scared the shit out of me. That peeking alien scene, far out. Was scary because it's so unremarkable. Just late at night, in your own house, and something is peeking from around the corner of the next room.
