Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original). Scared the hell out of me as a kid because I lived near a rundown house on a hill that always reminded me of it. The Dark Crystal when the skeksis attack each other is pretty full on for a kids movie. Maybe one of the old Howling movies too, when the person contorts into a wolf.

Mind you, that was back in the early 80s when horror movies were more about what you didn't see. Your imagination ran more wild. Nowadays it's all gore and no suspense.

I had a much much tougher time with Orstein & Smough than the dual Maneaters. At least with the Maneaters you can focus on one first, then put that central fire pit between you and them. With O&S you have both charge at you at once, the big one destroys all cover, and the engine freaking out because of the lightning AoE effects and the camer a struggling to keep up with the fast one. Add to that the shitfight right outside the door with those giants.

Personally I found you could ... exploit? ... be clever? ... use the environment to your advantage? more in Demon's Souls than Dark Souls. In both games direct combat means instant death, but Dark Souls gives you fewer opportunities to put something in between you and 12 stories of impending doom. Early in Dark Souls you get thrown onto a roof top with two gargoyles, nothing to dodge behind. Just you, two big bosses, and a whole lot of rolling.

Overall I found Dark Souls much tougher than Demon's. I wouldn't say I breezed through Demon's because I definitely struggled in places such as the world 4 levels and some of the world 5 shanty town, but it was a game I definitely found easier as it went on. By NG+++ you could cut through just about anything the game could throw at you.

With Dark Souls, I'm finding not only the combat tougher, but the unwritten world rules. I got screwed by the NPC who asks you a vague question and answered incorrectly, not knowing it would result in a merchant leaving and now not being able to purchase a certain pyromancy. Dark Souls has loads of these instances. It's like the whole game is forcing you to repeat your mistakes until you learn to get it right.

I hate when DLC gets announced for a game that isn't even out yet. Let me play the fucking game before you try to entice me with even more content that will have a price tag. It almost makes it feel like your game will now be inferior because you won't get the super huge nuclear machine gun or get to play as a walking statue of liberty that throws fireballs and instead you'll just get the 'vanilla' game.

I hate it. Wait until the game is released.

Once again, they are just letting you know whats going to be available since they already know what the DLC is there is no point in keeping it a secret. I'm sorry you hate it, but you better get used to it.

I think this is more of a "don't finish the game then sell it" strategy. If you know there's DLC coming in a few months, you're less likely to trade your game in. Probably makes them feel they're discouraging a wave of trade-ins in the month or two following release.

I'll only play this if they can promise 35ft ceilings in all rooms and broom cupboards.

How come it's only ever Bethesda that has problems coding for PS3? Every other cross-platform developer/publisher seems to get it to work.

Appreciate it's a shit model for devs to be stung like that, but if your product is faulty, you need to fix it. At no point does Fish say he can't afford it. He's saying he's aware a small percentage are affected and he's choosing to keep the cash.

What if a car company said the same thing? Less than 1% of cars we sold don't work properly. We can fix it, sure, but hey ... the money.

Fish has pretty much demonstrated he's more interested in his bottom line than his customers. Why cut him slack? EA does the same thing and we cry out against them.

Fish released a product with bugs, then wasted his free update by still not ironing the bugs out. Onus is on him now, I'm sorry. He's said "Not doing it, too expensive" to which consumers will say "Not buying it, too buggy".

"Outspoken" is generally code for rude and inconsiderate. It's pretty clear from the interviews, the outbursts, and the film that Phil Fish is a highly-strung jerk. Fez is a cool game but Fish just seems socially inept, self-centred, and barely in control of his emotions. You can play the "I'm a misunderstood geek and I'm a bit quirky" card, but a jerk is still a jerk.

Ah, George Broussard. A reminder that frat boy behaviour is fine for a time, but 20 years later, it's just puerile.

Really? I thought he was ridiculously easy. My first attempt I was annihilated when I tried to take him head on but then I realised you can simply call in reinforcements to handle the smaller enemies while you just keep shooting the ballistas at him. If anything I thought it was a huge anti-climax. As others have said Brood Mother was a better boss, and Flemeth's Dragon form was much harder than the Archdemon.
