Paulrus' List of Favorite Females

Oh yeah, because this is totally an original concept. But because of all the work I've done on that Big Boobie List, which just details how sexist and immature our gaming culture has been over the years, I figure I'll just list some of my female characters. Also, I started this as a favorite characters list but I found myself posting mostly girls. Guess I just like girls.

List items

  • I don't have many memories of Beyond Good and Evil, but I admire Jade for being different. She's hot, but not a sexualized bimbo. She's strong, but not a total bitch. She's capable, but still human. There's a reason this character is held in such high-esteem. It shows that developers are willing not to pander to sell a game and that gamers can enjoy a character for her personality and not just her cup size.

  • Making a jump into anime for a second, in the Tenchi series, Kiyone was my favorite among the gaggle of would-be brides. I like her because she's just there. The series is all like "WHICH ONE OF THESE CHICKS WILL TENCHI TAKE TO THE ALTAR"? Kiyone really doesn't make any advances; she just deals with her own problems and just tries to make the best of her situation: which was very odd indeed.

  • Being the total opposite of Jade, you may be wondering why I like Tina. Not exactly a well-written character and her whole purpose is to wear skimpy clothing and have huge-gigantic boobs. Well, it's because she's the only character in the DOA franchise I feel who has an excuse to look like a supermodel. Girls like Kasumi and Ayane, who to their credit have better backstories, are just silly, even a bit creepy, when you think about them and their boob sizes. Tina is a model and a wrestler, so it makes more sense. Also because she's American because, y'know, only DD's and blonds come from America.

  • Everybody hated Navi. (Except me. Shut up.) Tatl was a step in the right direction. Midna was the perfection. A character who was not only helpful, but also had personality. But, unlike the fairies, you actually gave a damn about her. She wasn't just there to fly by your head and target enemies, this was an actual sidekick. Also, her true form wasn't bad either.

  • Many people agree that Peach is a dumbass and nothing more than a damsel in distress, bless her heart. Daisy, on the other hand, is more fun. Maybe its because of that "she's a tomboy" thing that Nintendo never really elaborates on, but if I met her in real life... yeah, she'd be fun to have around.

  • Not exactly a character I -like-. But when put side-to-side with your typical ultra-kawaii bimbo magic girl that we're supposed to accept from anime... well, she's just the better pick. A sultry lass who's killer looks isn't her only character quality. (unlike some characters who are just walking racks) By show's end, you actually care about her and what she went through, you respect her more than just being the ship's resident hooker.

  • Hitomi isn't bad either. Just a college student who likes to kick butt. Her breasts are big, but that's not her most defining characteristic. (compared with some her co-stars) She actually looks and acts a bit like a human being and wasn't designed to sell love pillows. She looks like someone you would actually run into on the street, or on campus, which adds to her appeal I suppose.

  • I just love this eccentric chick, despite her need to put you in harm's way half the time.

  • Is is fair to add this to the list? I mean, I have that niggling feeling that she was created to give the nerds someone to fall over. But regardless, she was pretty cool in Saints Row: The Third. Unlike Shaundi, who went from stoner chick to menstruating harpy.
