I don't think Aykroyd would have as difficult a time selling the studios on a 3rd Ghostbusters film as he would on Bill Murray.  Murray said repeatedly that he wasn't interested in the project, but the success of this game might prove to him and the nay-sayers in La La Land, that the public still has interest in the franchise.  And why not wonder about that, after all, the first movie came out when I was still in Jr. High!  There were some 3rd party reports that he was on board but he has a history of being elusive on the topic, so it'd take him speaking the words "I'm in." for me to believe it.

I liked Maps & Phenomena by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs so I'll have to check out their latest release.  But what I am really excited about is the new album by the Silversun Pickups "Swoon" releasing this Tuesday, April 14th. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwIy6CJT7Ok

I think the band just got their own Rock Band 2 DLC, althought since I'm not a fan of the genre, I can't be sure when it was.

Like how they always have big cute eyes and spikey hair and dress like you would on Halloween or something. I just don't get that........ why can't they come along and make their characters look Japanese?"
Actually, you can blame a lot of that on Walt Disney.  Osamu Tezuka's Astroboy is often cited as one of the principle works of art which set the direction for what anime is considered today.  Tezuka, himself, stated that he drew inspiration from the short animated films of Walt Disney.  The big eyed, unrealistically proported characters appealed to his style and in post war Japan, it caught on with other manga artists and became the predominate style of design.  It is, however, not the only style just as muscle-bound superheroes are not the only form of comic books in the West.  Below are examples of a book by Hitoshi Iwaaki with art style that is not of the "big-eyed" school.

It's DMC with a "nerd girl" has the heroine. Cute, but I'll wait to see if its game play & story are worth my time.  Just the character design isn't enough to sell me on the game.

Since I am now member of the month, I don't see how that'd work.

I'm going to give iAmJohn the benefit of the doubt and assume he was being sarcastic.  It is a funny stereotypically knee-jerk reaction to someone voicing their opinion on an unfamiliar culture.  I thought about adding "Xenophobe" to my joke reply, as well, in an effort to add further insult, but decided against it because it didn't bring any new funny to the thread's direction.

Anyway, it seems what you are calling for is something that some Japanese developers are trying to inject into their creative direction.  The "globalization" of games, which in my mind means "westernization", is something that Capcom is working to achieve.  Other companies are also trying to move in that direction without completely abandoning their Japanese identity.  Only time will tell how successful they are at trying to merge these two philosophies.  But, there are some grievances that you cite which are just a matter of your personal taste.  I don't expect MGS to lose the stupid names or over the top character design since that is what made the franchise so popular.  If you don't want that, Splinter Cell is available for your gaming pleasure.  Some people like the irreverent insanity found in Japanese games, but it's not for everyone.  All things are not made for everyone, when they are, it turns out bland and entertaining for no one.  If you just don't connect with Japanese games, movies or culture then that's okay.  Be comfortable with what you like and respect the stuff that doesn't appeal to you because chances are, there is someone making this same point across the Pacific but in reverse.

I'm running (on average) 1.15 mb/s down & .37 mb/s up.  Not great, not all that good in fact, but functional.  Sadly where I live, there aren't a lot of options, so I have to make do with what's available.

There is the possibility that you are being throttled by your ISP.

Funny and hot
Funny and hot
I plan to see it, but on blu-ray in about six months.  I love Anna Faris as a comedienne (and a "hottie") so I knew it I was going to check out the movie even before I heard Seth Rogan was in it.  Before I saw Zack & Miri, his appearence wouldn't have made a difference to me, but the Kevin Smith comedy was hilarious and so, I'm interested in seeing what he can bring to this film.  I have no intention to see the Kevin James film "Paul Blart" which this film has been compared to, but the combination of Faris and Rogan definately place this on my Netflix queue.  But, I am concerned by you admission that the movie has virtually no plot.  I didn't like Pineapple Express because I felt it went nowhere.  I got bored about half way through and started skipping forward to get it over with.  That's why Rogan still isn't the same type of instant "I'm there" that other actors are, but hopefully the film will make up for its lack of story with lots of the funny.

No, I don't see it as a scam most of the time.  In each case of DLC, the buyer gets something for their money.  Now how useful or worthwhile that thing is can be debated, but that in itself doesn't qualify it as a scam.  However there are types of DLC that I find questionable.  The Godfather buy money DLC is one, as is any game that offers to unlock content that is already on the game disc.  I know that sometimes it's considered a time-saver for the player.  "Want that neat outfit or access to that specific song, but don't want to have to grind deep into the single player to earn it, then buy it and skip all that annoying game play."  In the old days, there would be a cheat released about 6-8 months after release with the unlockable code.  Now, those codes are monetized and considered DLC.  It makes good business sense, but I still find it distasteful.

Now, as to the topic of Fallout 3's DLC, then the answer is no, again.  If you love Fallout 3 so much that the original game wasn't enough for you, and Bethesda is willing to provide more content, then you should be happy for the opportunity to continue to play.  Maybe you'll be disappointed with the content, but that doesn't make it a scam.  DLC (most of the time) supposed to be a full-blown expansion.  Now in the case of Oblivion's Shimmering Isle or the new GTA IV L&D content, where they were prominently marketed as expansions, then the case is different.  But, even then, just because you don't like the length of the content doesn't make it a scam in the sense that the publishers were offering you a shiny red apple and giving you a bruised pear.
