Anyone in the greater LA area (or not) that is knowledgeable about video games and a frequent user of XBL and COD4 interested in contributing to a new podcast run and operated by two 19-year-olds?

The plans aren't all ironed out yet, but we might just end up recording XBL voice chat for the podcast.  A special weekly feature might be "COD4-cast" where we play cod4, get angry, yell, and discuss games.

" @iAmJohn:   Alright.  I see what you're saying, but i still think half-stars would allow for a more accurate "ballpark".  I understand that the written review is far more important, and speaks of a game's quality much more thoroughly than a score does, but I still think a simple 1-5 scoring system is too vague to be taken seriously. "

But again: why is it important for the score to be "more accurate" in that regard?  What is the benefit in having a midpoint in the scale?  Why is saying that God of War III is "still very good and easy to recommend, though it doesn't quite live up to its full potential," to quote the explanation of the four-star rating somehow devalued by the fact that Just Cause 2 is also a game that is "still very good and easy to recommend, though it doesn't quite live up to its full potential"?  And what makes you think that if they suddenly had the option to give a game a 4.5, Ryan would have given one to either of these games?  I hate to say it, dude, but you keep proving my argument.  Complaining about the scale is just score bitching presented through a filter.  I've yet to see an argument for why the scale should be changed that isn't "they gave this game I love the same score as this other game; WELL WHAT THE FUCK THIS GAME I LIKE IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THAT OTHER GAME AND THEY WOULD'VE SAID SO IF THEY HAD A MIDPOINT!" "
I'm not bitching, dude.  It's just that in my opinion, a scoring scale that incorporates half stars would be more telling of a game's quality.  I'm not a fanboy and I'm not biased towards gow3 or jc2.  I own both a 360 and ps3 and both the games in question, and having played (and enjoyed) both, I would honestly say that gow3 deserves a 4.5 (because I feel that it lives up to its full potential), and jc2 deserves a 4 (because I feel that it doesn't quite live up to its full potential).  I also think that gow3 does not deserve a 5 because, despite living up to its full potential, it's not perfect, hence 4.5.  Regardless of the written review, I think the current scoring system is unfit to properly rate modern games.  And just so you don't miss the point:  IN MY OPINION.

Why is that a problem? "

Even Kojima doesn't like Raiden, though.  He totally degraded the shit out of his character in mgs3 with the whole Col. Volgin/ man-thong thing.
