I got one for my birthday and they charged me with all of these fees.  The ToU said that it would charge fees for 12 months but the costumer service lady said that they changed that policy to six months.

These things make no sense, why do they cost money when they get to hold the money you deposited into the card and get interest on it until you spend it?

Dirty, dirty business.

Amen to this.  At first I was uncomfortable with the videos because they just felt awkward.  But those weren't professional game reviewers so they may not know how to talk as well as Jeff.  I am just glad that people contributed because that is good in and of itself.

Still up in the air as to wheather it is a good long term feature.

I want to be able to redesign my avatar completely.  Right now all the avatars look like high-resolution Miis with opposable thumbs.  They are all so cutesy.  I want my avatar to look more BA with better and more rigid body parts.  Not just accesories to dress up the current one.

NXE is still a crappy gimmick thinly disguising a new advertisment delivery system to me.  Yeah all that stuff on the dashboard is paid placement and therefor ad's, just like the front page of the iTunes store.  What makes it okay for the iTunes store and not for the Xbox dashboard is that we all paid good money for our 360 and each of our games, it disgusts me that i have to look at ads everytime I boot up MY piece of hardware.  It is all greedy M$ bullshit.

i hate NXE.  Stupid mandatory advertising bullshit, I don't mind ads when they pay for something that I get for free, but the NXE is just for M$ pocket stuffing.

I am glad they pulled it.  Mandatory install?  No thanks, that violates consumer rights.  I would not want to sell something that forced my users to install an application that was not technically needed but nonetheless required.  When you buy a retail game then you should just get the damn game, and not be forced to submit to restrictive, irremovable DRM or forced to interfaced through a crappy app.

But I do agree with everyone that there has been more than enough evidence that Gamestop doesn't give a shit about consumers rights, just their business.  Right pull, for all the wrong reasons.

I agree with Jeff on this.

I was really excited for this game but the fact that they are pulling this confusing bullshit in marketing really dampens my enthusiasm.

Left for Dead did this on Steam and then took away the demo after the game released so that is what i am afraid Sony is going to do.  By the way I did not buy and WILL NEVER buy Left for Dead.  No demo, no purchase.  I am not going to give my hard earned money to people who get some kind out perverse kick out of pulling this bullshit.

You are a PC gamer at heart Brad.

I hope that more developers develop for PC (and for consoles, I'm not to big on exclusivity), and make souped up ports to take advantage of the new and cheaper hardware to fully realize their game, the end of life time period for consoles is when PCs start to shine.

It is a simple command in the configuration file to check operating system version and just deny start-up of it is not the right version.  It is very easy to bypass.  Of course most people will just say screw it and pirate the sucker so that they can play on the Windows version that they own.  It is a purely artificial limitation.
