I imagine the plot will revolve around Bayonetta going after the demons this time and dealing with that whole demonic contract she's got going on. That person she's fighting in the teaser could be another witch who is under contract that's trying to stop her or something.

That or sky pirates. You can never have enough sky pirates.

(Of course I realize that any guess I have as for the direction of Bayonetta 2 is probably miles off, if the insanity of the first game is any indication.)

Amanda.

No, I am not kidding you, that is what my parents have told me. I was born a dude and named Justin. I did wonder a bit how different I would be if I were a girl - are interests something that could change completely if the only thing different is sex?

why not? our society still believes that girls and boys inherently like different things, so undoubtedly you'd be into different things if born a girl.

Well, possibly. But there's probably a girl out there who enjoys computers, video games, a bit of anime here and there, and other downright geeky/nerdy things.

Probably. I have no clue where you'd find one, though. Do you? There definitely aren't any on these forums. None at all, I am certain of it. Without a shadow of a doubt.

Oh, I get it. I see what you're saying. 's busy with Faria, though.

What are you trying to drag me into now?

I'm 44 years old and have been using the internet since it's birth. Comments like yours and the biting I'm seeing here is a nice reminder for me to stick to more mature communities...... Trolling and back-biting are rife, doesn't mean I have to enjoy it or take part. I thought this sort of nonsense was the the likes of Gamespot, clearly I was wrong.

ta ta

You're 44 and you're making a throwaway account to tell people on a random news article how crass and bullish they are and how it offends your senses so that you're glad you never comment here? Come now, you should be more mature than that at your age. If you've "been using the internet since it's birth", I'm sure you would be well aware that such posts are seen as completely absurd, pointless, and as venomous as the posts you supposedly despise. So either you're a troll using a throwaway account, or you're a retard. Take your pick.

@PixelPrinny: Way to be a condescending dick, dude!

Pot meet kettle, dude!

But you're right. I profusely apologize for gleaning some laughter at the expense of someone making a snide remark on a throwaway account. Truly what I did was immoral and it's good thing you called me out on it.

@PixelPrinny: you're seriously calling space pope (can't even remember dude's name) a better villain than caius? at least Caius HAD a motivation.

Space pope was stupid. "I'm gonna kill my most loyal servant in one attack just cause I'm retarded. But now I'll fight all you guys legit".. wait, was that even the same baddie? Or just one of the main baddies underlings? Gods, I don't even remember. The whole thing was a mess.

But yeah, I liked it better than Caius. Because regardless of how batshit insane it was, at least you made progress against it. You didn't do all that shit just to be told "Hahaha, this is all according to plan! Now kill me and I win!" Seriously, why the hell did Caius go super seiyan ultra triple dragon form if he was just going to have Noel stab him anyhow? Why not just skip all that nonsense and walk into Noel's blade (even if it WAS after all the other time travel nonsense)?

Space Pope might have been stupid and nonsensical, but in a medium ripe with stupid, nonsensical villains you could at least play the bad ass hero, ignore what Space Pope said, reply with, "Just shut up and die" and move on with the story. You couldn't do that with Caius because Caius was a constantly changing deus ex machina.

@Hailinel: Indeed, Lightning's cool. Actually, so are Snow and Sazh. I think one of the reasons I never really picked up XIII-2 is because they don't give me access to the characters that I grew attached to over the course of the first game.

Well they definitely show up. That was one of the main reasons I wasn't so interested in 13-2 as well, but I think I ended up coming away from that game with more respect for Noel and Caius than any of the characters in 13.

I am aware they do, but Feral Links and gambling with Sazh really didn't really draw me in as much as it could/should have.

All the same, given that Square Enix didn't even intend for this game to exist and only made it as a consolation to fix what was busted about the original, the story actually turned out well, particularly where Noel and Caius were involved. This could have easily turned into another FFX-2, otherwise.

Yeah it sure is a good thing it didn't turn into something where at least you get some closure between the two main characters of the first game. Heaven forbid that happen, right? As long as we avoid costume-swapping Charlie's Angels, it's all good. Even if the ending is complete and utter bullshit. "Hey thanks for killing me. That's all I needed to win and get my wish fulfilled. Why didn't I just let Lightning kill me in the first minute of the game? Because the writers are retarded. That's why."

because caius needed to send noel and serah on their quest and have them do all that stuff in the timeline before that was possible, if I recall correctly.

Oh right, it all makes sense because of a nonsensical contrivance, silly me.

Don't get me wrong though, I certainly don't think the original XIII's plot was anything great. The whole final act was a jumbled mess of "wtfisthisidonteven" with Fang fighting against becoming Ragnarok and then just saying "Fuck it, I'm going Ragnarok" and the whole "Everyone's dead.. oh wait they're alive again!" mindfuck... it was bad. But a) At least it was resolved and didn't pull a Wolf's Rain where "Ohey, all that stuff you did? Completely pointless!" and b) The villain wasn't a melodramatic pile of shit who just wanted to watch the world burn because his personal brand of insanity called for it and just happened to be the most brilliant man in the world who could manipulate the heroes into doing exactly as he wanted so that this bullshit contrivance you speak of somehow worked out for him in the end.

Truth be told, had it ended with closure instead of a big fat "To be continued" I'd have been satisfied. I still wouldn't have cared for the story, but the gameplay was enjoyable enough that I'd have walked away with a smile. But the story managed to unravel itself in the most ridiculous way possible, making the whole thing feel like an incredible waste of time.
