@jeff Non gamers playing Tekken solidifies my theory; The basic inputs are easier. I think it's part of the reason Smash works with casual players as well.
You know gamers are becoming old men when the hype/press around this game concerns it having a story.
I think it's well accepted knowledge anyone going to a game this grind oriented, especially the first Destiny, DOESN'T WANT A STORY. When I'm going into something like this, or Monster Hunter, etc. I'm not looking for a bunch of cutscenes that quadruple the length of every mission. Who fucking cares about a story? Are there more guns? More locations? More enemies? More Destiny? Yes? Then shut up and play it.
You know we all give Dan shit for being a doofus, but there's something to be said for his ability to carry a conversation with strangers....even antisocial ones like Lesnar.
"but we have no idea what people like about this series"...no, guys, I'm pretty sure Konami remembers the part where everyone was like "Man, MGSV has like no story by comparison, but it's still awesome and tons of fun!" pretty fucking well. It's the general public's memory that seems spotty to me...
