The recent quick looks of Taxi and Shadowgate as well as the most recent Mailbag are not up on the youtube channel. Is it of any use for us to report this here, or does the staff totally already know?
@branthog: I'm going to make a suggestion, even though it kind of lies outside of what you asked for. Kingdom of Loathing. It's mostly text based, browser based, turn based and asynchronous, which is great for leaving on in a tab while you work. It mostly plays like a single player game, with little direct interaction with other players, though there is a robust player-driven economy and chat, clans, etc. It starts off simple, but, yes, you can go deep. The developers have been adding content to it for 10 years and they haven't stopped yet.
Then again, you strike me as someone who maybe already knows about this.
@sunbrozak: Hey I'm happy someone's getting use out of my TNT guide. I'd recommend using @szlifier's site qlcrew.com for searching old videos. It indexes all the TNTs and UPFs, with highlights listed. It doesn't cover all premium videos yet though.
I don't know, dude. If you really dislike roguelikes, why would you start and entire forum topic dedicated to trying to understand why you don't like it? I think you might actually be really intrigued by roguelikes but frustrated because you can't get very far in them. That's why you're putting so much time and energy into this conversation.
I recommend trying to learn these games with the help of a guide. Yes, look up information on the internet. Most guides or wikis for these types of games will have a section for "basic survival tips" or "beginner strategy." When playing the game, try to give yourself a concrete goal and take time to think about your strategy every step along the way. Give that a shot for an hour or two, even though I'm sure you expect you'll hate it. But maybe doing this will either open up the game for you, or lead to a clearer realization as to why you don't like these games, which is what you wanted to know in the first place.
@rorie: Not sure if you already know this, but the recent videos for The Long Dark, AR-K, Road Not Taken, and Mount Your Friends are also not up on the youtube channel
@sikboy1029: It's actually scheduled for this coming week. It always was. It's not visible on the front page because only five upcoming items are shown at a time.
